Ecosense was founded in 2009 by a team of LED innovators who were among the first to deliver advanced LED lighting solutions across a broad range of architectural and commercial applications. EcoSense Lighting provides best-in-class LED lighting solutions for use in commercial and residential applications. The company offers a comprehensive line of LED fixtures that meet the technical requirements of the most demanding projects while delivering substantial benefits over traditional lighting sources. Met with early success, we soon made a deliberate decision to materially improve the part of the world that we touch and we made a long-term commitment to this task. In March 2020, Ecosense acquired assets from Soraa, a designer and manufacturer of full-spectrum LED lamps based in Fremont, California. Soraa was co-founded by Shuji Nakamura, a 2014 Nobel Laureate in Physics for his invention of the blue LED. Since 2008, Soraa has delivered a unique LED lighting experience with the singular purpose of leading the world in superior lighting products where color matters: high-end retail, world-class art museums, premium restaurants and hotels. Pioneering LEDs built from pure gallium nitride substrates (GaN-on-GaN), Soraa full-spectrum lamps and fixtures deliver superior color rendering and beam characteristics compared to others using LEDs created from non-native substrates. This acquisition accelerates our strategy into the next wave of lighting.
