Tekna stands out for its unique combination of artisanal methods with timeless character. All lighting fixtures are designed, produced and assembled by hand in Europe. This creates not only a wonderful lighting fixture, but also a strong story which makes Tekna a very powerful brand. With attention to both decorative details like handmade and soldered ledges along with individual glass rods, and innovative materials like safety glass, Tekna stands out in its category.

To provide our decorative design lighting with an extra level of finesse and detail, we assemble the glassware with ledges designed especially for Tekna. These ledges are made from durable brass and bronze-plated for a stunning look. We choose to solder rather than glue the parts together, this reinforces the artisanal aspect of the production process. By adding these ledges, we transform the minimalistic design into a romantic and more authentic one. Tekna stands out for its high-end craftsmanship, all ridges are mitered to create a seamless look. We're extremely proud of this exclusive system which makes us stand out from other manufacturers.

Tempered glass is used in all our floor devices including the Ilford Floor collection and Penrose design. Tempered glass is produced by controlled thermal or chemical treatments to increase its strength compared to normal glass. Tempering results in balanced internal stresses that cause the glass to break into small granular pieces of equal size and shape, rather than splitting into random, pointy fragments. This glass makes injuries less likely.

Tekna values the production and treatment of each unique lighting fixture. Each fixture is produced with the utmost care and precision as a personal work of art. For fixtures such as Mercer and Stockles, we work with over 20 individual glass rods that are placed one by one by hand. Through this method and selection of materials, we create a beautiful optical illusion of both light and glass. We give the production the time it needs and make every effort to provide you with a beautiful piece of craftsmanship.

Our house stands for pure professionalism and is dedicated to craftsmanship. This was as true when Tekna was founded in the 1990s as it is today. At the same time, we want to show that we are a brand that evolves with current technology and actively works on contemporary designs. For this we rely on our in-house designer but also work very closely with top designers who know better than anyone how to work exclusively and creatively without losing sight of Tekna's core values.

We deliberately choose to work with valuable brass, a very rewarding and fine material that forms the basis of our excellent, authentic products. To transform the design into reality, we rely on craftsmen who apply the utmost care and finesse to their work. They are always looking for methods to streamline, improve, increase user-friendliness, etc.

With Belgian design at heart, Tekna is internationally appreciated. Our lighting can be found worldwide as functional lighting in stores, decorative lighting in hotel rooms and lobbies, but also as atmospheric outdoor lighting on a terrace or swimming pool. Tekna collections can be applied anywhere.
