Filumen

The brand Filumen was founded in 1999 by Christian Finke in a Berlin studio house. The focus was on the production of personal designs. Today, larger projects are also being realized in Potsdam in collaboration with light planners and interior designers with several suppliers. New designs by other designers are also added. At the core, filumen remains a manufactory with a team of craftsmen and designers, which allows for the brand’s persistent advancements.

Aesthetics is our benchmark, clear lines our focus, precision our craft. We are fascinated by new connections between space, light, colour, form and substance. This is how we create our finely tuned products: discreet yet striking as individual pieces, or accentuating architectural concepts in larger settings. In our Potsdam workshop, we complement our own designs through cooperation with creative designers and the know-how of long-standing partner companies in the metal, glass and lighting sector and produce lights just for you. Reliable, collaborative with a critical eye for detail. Our claim: to create places made credible through light.

Filumen combines minimalism of form with a special emphasis on material and colour. The cubic gates series marked the beginning of this with consistently cubic lights that have, due to their intensely coloured silks, a signaling effect. From the outset, high-quality processing was paramount and formed the basis of our position in the upper market segment.
