Born in 1910 and just thirty years old at the outbreak of World War II: a hard challenge without which, however, his life would have taken a different course. It is in Germany that lighting literally dawned on the founder of Novalux: he sees the fluorescent tubes used on German submarines for the first time and starts dreaming about how to use this light source. He immediately realizes the great potential of this innovative source of energy, which, as a tailor-made suit designed by himself, becomes a real lighting device. In 1948 Novalux is established. As the son of peasants from Monghidoro (Bologna), Gino is a persistent and respectable craftsman. His work significantly shaped the brand Novalux, which for 75 years has represented an example of an Emilian family entrepreneurship.

The work and success of Novalux S.r.l. continue today with Gino’s grandson. Alessandro Sgrignoli inherited his grandfather’s intuition and entrepreneurial courage, while leading the company with the same determination and foresight. For 75 years Novalux is the result of dedication and passion: a large family that grows and renews itself, with an energy that will make it shine for decades to come.
