Obelux Oy Helsinki, Finland based company focusing on LED technology. The company has built a reputation for delivering top quality LED lights with outstanding reliability and top performance since 1997 meanwhile also being one of the oldest companies focusing only on LED technology. Obelux Oy is well known of its continuous innovation and responsiveness in meeting the needs of the industry. Obelux is ISO 9001:2015 certified company.

Obelux Oy manufactures and delivers ICAO and FAA compliant low-, medium-, and high-intensity LED aviation obstruction lights to all applications. Obelux’s aviation obstacle lights are in use in many different applications including wind turbines, telecommunication masts, power lines, tall buildings, bridges, stacks, weather masts, cranes, cell sites and airports.

Obelux’s core competence is the design of LED based lights with accurate optical performance, high-power electronics, IoT eco-system, and sustainable and reliable complete solutions.

Obelux has 20 years of experience in designing its own optical solutions used with LEDs which makes Obelux the most experienced LED based aviation obstruction light manufacturer in the world. The precise and optimized optics allows us to minimize the unwanted light scattering to the neighborhood, optimize the power supply and power consumption of the product, and providing the high-power light beam where needed.

Obelux’s vast optical “library” provides solutions to all different kind of aviation standards which vary country to country regarding the specified light beams.

Obelux inhouse electronical and mechanical engineering is consisting of many experts with different backgrounds. In our line of business, the requirements both to the mechanical and electrical design are one of the hardest one can think of due to their installation locations and the purpose of the lights. The lights are often installed on hard-to-reach locations on top of a wind turbine or a supertall radio towers where they should operate without any maintenance even more than 20 years. This put a lot of pressure on the mechanical design including materials used, sealing solutions, environmental robustness, high wind speeds, vibration, humidity, etc. The electronics and power supply used in the lights have to tolerate surges, lightning strikes, and years of use in constantly changing temperatures and humidity levels. These also have to withstand and pass demanding measurements and tests including EMC, surges, noise, vibration, luminous output, ingress protection, etc.

Obelux can be considered as a forerunner in bringing IoT into the fairly conventional aviation obstruction light industry. We have brought a full TCP/IP based aviation obstruction light system into the market in 2010, and the systems have been in use in the field since then. Obelux knowhow in TCP/IP, SNMP, ModBUS RTU and ModBUS TCP/IP is its own class thanks to the highly skilled individuals working at Obelux and constructing the Obelux eco-system of aviation obstruction lights.

Accessing the systems remotely bring great advantages to our customers who can plan their service visits, prepare trouble shooting, and check status of the system remotely without climbing to wind turbines or the towers. In addition to the remote monitoring, Obelux system provides full controlling features of the aviation obstruction light system over Ethernet.

Obelux product line follows tightly International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) and Federal Aviation Authority (FAA) guidelines and recommendations. In addition to these, Obelux products are tested and measured against various national standards. Obelux possess a vast number of product certifications from countries such in Japan Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, and Transportation (MLIT), Germany Wasser Und Schifffahrtsverwaltung Koblenz (WSV), France Le Service technique de l’Aviation civile (STAC), among many others.

Obelux Led low-intensity obstruction lights are fully compliant with civil aviation authority regulations. Photocell (Day/Night) sensor can be integrated into the light unit, which offers also flashing feature for the lights.
