Established in 1949 and headquartered in Kiyosu, Aichi Prefecture, Japan, Toyoda Gosei is a leading specialty manufacturer of rubber and plastic automotive parts and LEDs. Our aim at TG is original manufacturing that benefits society, for which we conduct ongoing research and development for advanced technology. Using our core technologies in rubber, plastics, and LEDs, we have expanded development to various fields including semiconductors and biotechnology (drug development support, agribusiness). Another aim for the near future is to develop polymer actuator products. These products are promising for various uses in public welfare and information terminals.

Proper understanding of our products and processes by employees is important. For that reason, we conduct in-house training to help young engineers acquire the basic technical knowledge in their area. We also conduct manufacturing experiential training for new employees to learn machining operations and the structure of Japanese traditional “karakuri” mechanisms, in which they work with their own hands. In this way we deepen their understanding of the relationship between products and technology not only through classroom lessons but also through actual practice.

We want to provide products the meet diverse customer needs globally and that users are happy to choose. To achieve this, we have created an organization for the missions of creating attractive products and creating processes that are globally competitive. With departmental functions that correspond to the development phase, we have built a system that promotes speedy development. Departments associated with each business are given a role and responsibilities for that business responsibilities are clarified in order to strengthen center functions and promote synergistic effects across business operations.

Toyoda Gosei produces UV-C LED modules that purify water (drinking water, domestic use water, discharge water, etc.). Its product portfolio also includes LEDs that reproduces natural light with original technology. Red, green, blue phosphor is irradiated with violet light to achieve a color tone close to sunlight. UV-C (deep UV) LEDs that can kill viruses and bacteria and other LEDs with new added value are being developed.
