Temporary/Mobile Lighting
Temporary lighting is provided for construction projects, work sites, event grounds, and activity areas where
fixed area/site lighting is not available, practical, or economically feasible. Temporary lighting systems generally integrate the luminaire(s), power supply and mast (tower) into one unit. The integral power source may be a diesel engine generator, rechargeable battery bank, solar power or hydrogen power system. The lighting systems may be ground or equipment mounted, but more often they are mounted on trailers for good maneuverability. The light tower can be manually elevated or come with a hydraulic elevation system.
Mobile light powers or light plants are typically equipped with floodlight luminaires to provide directional illumination with controlled light distribution. Balloon-type luminaires are used in applications where omnidirectional lighting is desired. Temporary lighting can also be delivered by
string lights.
