The latest Volkswagen Tiguan got a full lighting package – front and rear - from Marelli.

After its successful deployment in the VW Touareg, the HD matrix headlamps of the VW Tiguan also contain our latest high-resolution platform module h-Digi® microLED. With the top headlamp of VW Tiguan, the digital front lighting from Marelli becomes popular in a high-volume car.

The h-Digi® microLED module uses ams OSRAM’s EVIYOS® HD 25 light source and is characterized by an extremely compact design and high energy efficiency. It features 19,200 individually addressable LEDs with a pixel pitch of 40 µm. It is combined with a special optical lens system and a new electronic control, both engineered in house by Marelli. The h-Digi® microLED precisely modulates the light cone and projects simple driver assistance patterns on the road, directly in the driver’s field of view to facilitate driving on narrow lanes.

The headlamps were developed jointly by our engineering departments in Reutlingen (Germany) and Jihlava (Czech Republic) and produced in our Jihlava plant. The attractive all-LED rear lights, developed and produced in Sosnowiec (Poland), encompass the rear of the car from both sides - visually linked by the integrated logo. The full-width lamp gives the car an unmistakable rear signature and, through its bottom surface, it also illuminates the license plate. The dynamic design of the taillamp is accomplished by using Marelli’s highly homogeneous Folia-LED technology. Multiple welcome and goodbye animations complete the attractive, smooth appearance.
