The Wave LED UV is a precision magnifier designed for industrial inspection applications, now enhanced with integrated UV-A LED light sources. Specifically developed for tasks such as conformal coating inspection, the fixture enables users to detect coverage quality with ease. When exposed to the Wave LED UV’s 365nm UV-A light, UV tracer conformal coatings glow dark purple, making uncoated areas clearly visible. Skilled operators can even assess the volume of coating distributed across the surface of a circuit board. The fixture also serves well for inspecting welds, solder joints, and stress-contaminated areas.
Beyond electronics, this magnifier’s UV capabilities lend themselves to a variety of specialized fields, including criminology, museum and art restoration, document verification, currency examination, leak detection, and gemstone or mineral inspection. For electronics applications where electrostatic discharge (ESD) poses a risk, ESD-safe versions of the Wave LED—available with both standard and UV-A light—are offered. The Wave LED ESD-UV is engineered to safely dissipate static charges in environments that demand strict ESD control.
Both the Wave LED UV and ESD-UV versions feature two dimmable 365nm UV-A LED modules, each independently controlled. They offer step dimming at 0%, 50%, and 100% levels, and include a timer function that automatically shuts off the light after either 4 or 9 hours of use. This ensures energy efficiency and operational safety.
Ergonomically designed, the magnifier allows for precise positioning thanks to a flexible joint connecting the lamp head and arm. The parallel, three-pivot spring-balanced arm—measuring 105 cm—provides excellent vertical and horizontal reach while maintaining stable positioning without drifting.
Optically, the Wave LED UV comes standard with a crown glass lens in either 3.5 or 5 diopter options, offering a lens area of 175 x 108 mm. Additional magnification can be achieved with secondary lenses in 4D, 6D, or 10D strengths, which attach easily to the main lens. A protective cloth cover is included to shield the lens from dust and prevent the risk of unintended light focusing.
Constructed with a durable steel arm and aluminum shade, the luminaire is available in black or light grey finishes. It comes equipped with a 2-meter cable and plug and can be mounted using an edge clamp or weighted base, with alternative mounting solutions also offered.
