The DL42-R77 is a compact LED downlight engineered specifically for integration into B0 or B15 fire-approved metal ceilings. It combines fire-resistant materials with a unique heat sink design, making it an ideal choice for B15 metal ceilings. Thanks to its advanced construction, the DL42-R77 eliminates the need for additional fire hats above the ceiling to maintain B15 certification. Installation is straightforward, secured by six self-tapping screws, and the luminaire comes equipped with an external driver. Various decorative designs are available to meet customer preferences, though this model is intended exclusively for metal ceiling applications.
Optically, the DL42-R77 offers lenses with 24° or 38° beam angles, with an optional 80° opal diffuser available. It is designed for recessed mounting and is supplied with a 300 mm cable for connection. The downlight is suitable for a range of B15-rated areas such as passenger cabins, corridors, staircases, shops, libraries, lounges, and restaurants, aligning with the rigorous demands of public and crew spaces. Decoration options include chrome (CH) or white (WH), with other colors available upon request.
Connection options for the DL42-R77 include ENSTO (QCE) and WAGO (QCA) quick connectors, as well as a version without quick connectors (C1), offering flexibility in installation. The downlight’s design complies with marine classification society requirements and IEC standards, ensuring suitability for marine environments and strict safety regulations.
The LED light source produces 756 lumens at a color rendering index (CRI) greater than 80 with a warm color temperature of 3000 K. It consumes 8 watts and has a lifetime rating of 50,000 hours (L70) at a maximum ambient temperature of 45°C. Several electrical versions are available, including switch on/off (DL42 HFe), 1-10V dimmable (DL42 HFDa), DALI dimmable (DL42 Dali), and phase cut dimmable (DL42 PC), all with external drivers.
The housing features a mounting ring made from 1.5 mm thick steel plate, fastened to the ceiling panel with self-tapping screws (not included). The housing is constructed from stainless steel designed to accommodate thermal expansion. Around the housing, an expanding graphite foam closes gaps between the fixture and ceiling insulation when exposed to high temperatures. The heat sink is made of aluminum, efficiently transferring heat from the LED through the mounting ring into the ceiling panel, ensuring optimal thermal management and maintaining performance and safety standards.
