LED Street Light for Urban and Rural Infrastructure

The Lumega 600-700 LED is a high-efficiency luminaire system designed for rapid and cost-effective upgrades to LED technology. Utilizing a custom-designed LED conversion kit, existing installations of conventional Lumega 600/700 models can be upgraded one-to-one in just a few simple steps. This transition reduces energy consumption by up to 75%, delivering substantial operational savings and a rapid return on investment. Additionally, the upgrade enhances light quality by minimizing spill light, improving visual comfort and lighting precision. A key advantage of this system is the ability to retain the original post and housing, which reduces installation costs and supports environmental sustainability by conserving resources.

The return on investment is significantly accelerated due to the drastic reduction in energy costs. Actual savings depend on the specifications of the old lighting system and the chosen LED conversion kit. Detailed efficiency calculations can be performed in advance, allowing precise forecasting of total savings, operational cost reductions, and payback periods. This makes the Lumega 600-700 LED upgrade a highly strategic solution for municipalities and facility operators seeking performance and budgetary improvements.

Ideal for a wide variety of outdoor environments, the Lumega 600-700 LED is suitable for applications such as traffic and residential roads, collection and works roads, green spaces, storage areas, container zones, car parks, cycle paths, stairways, access areas, crossroads, roundabouts, and even cross-country ski trails. Its versatile design ensures reliable performance across all these varied scenarios.

Mounting options for the Lumega 600-700 LED include compatibility with post spigots of Ø76 mm, with an adjustable inclination angle from 0° to 25° for post-top mounting and 0° to -15° for bracket mounting. Installation is secure and robust, using two stainless steel fixing screws in compliance with EN 60598-2-3. Adaptability is further enhanced through optional reduction pieces for use with Ø42, Ø48, and Ø60 mm mast spigots. Custom posts are also available upon request.

The luminaire incorporates Multi-Lens Technology (MLT), featuring highly efficient, UV- and temperature-resistant lens systems with asymmetric wide light distribution. It is suitable for illuminating roads in compliance with M5 and M6 lighting classes, with road-to-mounting-height ratios ranging from 0.4 to 0.8. Additional beam configurations are available for customized lighting requirements, and accessories such as shielding kits can be added post-installation for further optimization.

The integrated LED system delivers stable luminous flux and fixed light color, supported by Constant Lumen Output (CLO) technology to maintain consistent brightness over time. With a power factor above 0.95 and a maximum luminous efficacy of 132 lm/W, the system operates at exceptional efficiency. The standard light color is neutral white (4000 K), with a color rendering index (CRI) above 70 and a color locus tolerance of ≤5 SDCM. Other CCT options and a 3-level switchable output version are available on request. The system is designed to last, with a rated life of 100,000 hours (L80 at 25 °C), and all light sources are replaceable in accordance with EU Ecodesign Regulation (VO 2019/2020).

The luminaire body is made from die-cast aluminium and finished in a two-tone powder coating—light grey and anthracite grey (similar to RAL 7035 and RAL 7016)—for a modern, weather-resistant appearance. A sealed PMMA clear cover protects the LEDs and optics. The functional unit, consisting of the LED module and electronic control gear, is easily swappable. Tool-free access is enabled via lever catches, facilitating fast and efficient maintenance. The fixture offers IP66 protection, IK09 impact resistance, and weighs 11.9 kg. Its windage area is 0.120 m², and it is suitable for ambient temperatures up to 25 °C.

The electrical system features a switchable electronic control gear unit conforming to the DALI-2 standard (EN 62386), with built-in surge protection rated at 6 kV (differential mode) and 10 kV (common mode). The control gear unit is replaceable in line with EU regulations. The luminaire complies with all applicable EU safety and performance standards and is CE-marked and ENEC-certified by an independent testing body. A pre-assembled 8-meter connection cable is included, featuring an M20 gland for strain relief and accommodating cable diameters between 6 and 12 mm.

Trilux backs the Lumega 600-700 LED with a strong after-sales promise: the product will remain available for 10 years, and critical spare parts such as LED modules, control gear, and optical systems will be supported for 15 years from the invoice date. The manufacturer also reserves the right to make reasonable design improvements in line with technological progress.

Planning guidance confirms the luminaire’s compliance with EN 60598 and its wind load suitability per EN 1991 (Eurocode), supporting operation in wind zones with basic speeds up to 30 m/s in terrain category 1. Snow loads up to 1 kN/m² and ice accretion up to 2 cm are also accounted for when installed as per guidelines. However, installations in exposed locations such as bridges or rooftops, or next to railway lines, are excluded from standard performance assumptions.

Overall, the Lumega 600-700 LED offers a powerful combination of retrofit simplicity, high energy savings, improved light quality, and long-term sustainability—making it a smart upgrade path for modern outdoor lighting infrastructure.
