The TX60 LED luminaire is an innovative lighting solution designed for hazardous areas, setting a new benchmark for reduced cost of ownership in the oil and gas industry. Engineered for Ex Zone 1 applications, it is certified for use in ATEX and IECEx Zones 1, 2, 21, and 22. With an exceptionally wide ambient temperature range from -50°C to +55°C, the TX60 LED is built to perform reliably in the most demanding onshore and offshore environments.
One of the key advantages of the TX60 LED is its ability to serve as a direct replacement for traditional T8 fluorescent fittings. Thanks to its flexible design, it can be mounted using the same fixings as most existing T8 hazardous fittings on the market, eliminating the need for new lighting calculations or extensive retrofitting. The luminaire's high-quality color rendering enhances visibility and safety for personnel working in hazardous zones.
Constructed from seawater-resistant, anodized aluminum, the TX60 LED features robust housing with external earthing and is finished in grey anodized coating for added protection. It can be mounted to ceilings or cable trays using screws, with optional mounting accessories including shock mounts, brackets, and triangles. The luminaire also includes internal or external earthing provisions such as earthing sheets, tags, or potential conductors, depending on the configuration.
The light source consists of high-efficiency LEDs housed in soft opalic polycarbonate diffusers. The fixture is available in two lengths, delivering either 2200 or 4500 lumens, making it suitable for a wide range of lighting tasks. The advanced IC driver technology ensures high performance, supporting a system lifetime of 100,000 hours at +45°C, with no system limitations and no inrush current. Versions with through wiring and emergency functions are available, offering 1.5 or 3 hours of emergency duration. Emergency models can charge and discharge at temperatures as low as -40°C.
The electrical system features flexible, heat-resistant wiring rated up to 105°C. The connection box is equipped with two certified cable glands, available in M25 polyamide or BN25 nickel-plated brass, and includes a blind plug. For installations requiring through wiring, versions with two connection boxes (one at each end) are available, with terminal blocks accommodating 6 mm² core diameter conductors.
Designed according to maritime classification society standards, and meeting additional requirements under VDE and IEC/EN, the TX60 LED delivers reliability, safety, and energy efficiency for hazardous zone lighting in harsh industrial environments.
