Emergency Exit Light with Wide-Beam, Corridor, Anti-Panic, and Narrow-Beam Light Distributions

The ORTUS-S emergency light is designed with a robust housing that offers high ingress protection and enhanced mechanical impact resistance, making it suitable for demanding environments. This durable construction makes it an excellent choice for use in sports facilities, shopping centres, industrial settings, and public buildings. Additionally, its design allows for reliable performance in outdoor conditions and at large mounting heights.

The housing is made from self-extinguishing polycarbonate plastic, available in white or black, and has passed flammability tests at 850°C. This ensures safety and durability in critical emergency situations.

The ORTUS-S emergency light complies with multiple standards, including EN 1838 and EN 50172 for emergency escape route and anti-panic lighting, as well as EN 60598-2-22 for escape route emergency lighting. Its emergency system options include standard manual testing (S), self-testing (ST) for automatic monitoring, and addressable DALI systems for advanced testing, monitoring, and report generation. Backup durations are available in 1- or 3-hour versions, with additional options for central battery supply systems (Z and ZA).

Powering the emergency light is a lithium iron phosphate (LiFePO4) battery, benefiting from decades of development originally driven by emergency lighting needs. This modern lithium-based technology, now widely adopted in electric vehicles, offers reliable energy, long service life, high efficiency, and cost savings, making it an ideal energy source for emergency lighting.

The light source consists of high-power LEDs combined with optical systems tailored to different light distribution needs. Variants include corridor (CR), anti-panic wide beam (XWB), asymmetrical (ASY), wide beam (WB), and narrow beam (NR) configurations, ensuring comprehensive coverage for diverse emergency lighting requirements.

Connection options feature 3- or 5-pole, 2.5 mm² through-wiring terminals, except for the ORTUS-S 150 model, which uses 5 (3) x 1 x 1.5 mm² wiring, enabling flexible installation setups to fit various building infrastructures.
