Today, they are an integral part of the vehicle design, and are a complex integration of function and style. Varroc Lighting Systems works diligently to achieve the balance of delivering a customer pleasing beam pattern providing the driver with visibility that makes it safer to drive at night, along with the challenging demands of the design studios to achieve a signature that is distinctive to each automaker. This is done using a wide portfolio of available technologies, from a cost effective halogen source, to Xenon, to LED and even Laser. These technologies are adapted and optimized according to the customer needs and technical requirements.

The primary objective of signal lighting is to ensure that the driver’s vehicle is visible and communicates to others the driver’s intentions. Signal lighting covers a variety of functions from stop, tail, turn, side marker, and the increasing popular Daytime Running Lamp (DRL). Design studios have embraced these functions, and are using them as vehicle signatures during both day and night time conditions. Technology is progressing rapidly, which allows designers greater freedom to develop innovative styling themes, while still keeping pace with the evolving legal regulations. The accelerated use of LED lighting in combination with various optical systems allow for new levels of creativity. Organic LED’s (OLED’s) are taking that one step further by achieving even more design flexibility.
