The SALEEM program is a conformity assessment system implemented by the Saudi Standards, Metrology and Quality Organization (SASO). The program is designed to ensure the quality and safety of electrical products in the KSA (the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia) market focused on electrical safety, electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) and energy efficiency. Under the program, SASO developed SABER which is an online platform for issuing product certification of conformity (PCoC).

The Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment Directive (WEEE Directive) imposes the responsibility for the disposal of waste electrical and electronic equipment on the manufacturers or distributors of such equipment in the European Union (EU).

The Restriction of Hazardous Substances Directive (RoHS Directive) sets restrictions upon manufacturers as to the use of certain hazardous substances in electrical and electronic equipment placed on the EU market. The RoHS II Directive requires that manufacturers conduct conformity assessment, prepare declarations of conformity and affix the CE mark to electrical and electronic equipment sold in Europe. Equipment bearing the CE mark is presumed to be in compliance with ROHS 2.

China RoHS, also known as Administrative Measure on the Control of Pollution Caused by Electronic Information Products, is a Chinese government regulation applicable to all manufacturers, importers and retailers that place electronic information products on the Chinese market. It controls the legal threshold of lead, cadmium, mercury, hexavalent chromium, polybrominated biphenyls (PBBs), and polybrominated diphenly ethers (PBDs) in electrical and electronic products.

The VCCI mark is an EMI conformity mark operated by the Voluntary Control Council for Interference by Information Technology Equipment or VCCI of Japan. The VCCI mark The VCCI mark is the symbol which proves that electronic equipment bearing this mark is harmless as the disturbance emission level is controlled under the tolerant levels.
