Zhaga-D4i Certified Control Device for Public Streetlight Monitoring and Management

The device represents the first Zhaga-D4i certified control module for public lighting, offering comprehensive monitoring and control capabilities that comply fully with the Zhaga-D4i standard. It is powered by an AUX power supply as specified by the DiiA, enabling low energy consumption while maintaining reliable operation. The device utilizes device-to-device IPv6/6LoWPAN technology over the 868 MHz narrowband frequency, supporting fast, efficient communication in large-scale lighting networks. A GPS-enabled version facilitates simplified commissioning through visual representation in the user interface and acts as a master clock, ensuring accurate synchronization across the network.

This control device is designed for deployment in self-healing mesh networks, capable of supporting up to 300 nodes, enabling robust and secure operation in urban environments. Data transmission is rapid, with a maximum rate of 100 kbps, while integrated ambient light measurement allows adaptive lighting control based on real-time environmental conditions. Installation is flexible and straightforward, as the device is ready for a Zhaga Book 18 Edition 3 receptacle, providing compatibility with a wide range of luminaires. Its longevity is exceptional, with a lifetime of up to 100,000 hours at a case temperature (tc) of 72°C, ensuring long-term reliability in demanding outdoor applications.

The housing of the device combines functionality and durability. Constructed from PBT for the body and polycarbonate for the top, with a transparent smoke grey finish, it is rated for IP66 protection, offering excellent resistance to water and dust ingress. The device also achieves an IK09 impact protection rating, ensuring robustness against mechanical stress. A pressure equalizing membrane protects the electronics from sudden temperature changes, providing additional safety and reliability in outdoor environments. Its materials are UV-resistant, and the housing is designed to withstand extended exposure to sunlight and harsh weather conditions, making it ideal for urban street lighting networks.

From a technical perspective, the device operates on a 24 V supply voltage and has a starting time of 30 seconds. It interfaces with DALI-2 protocols for seamless luminaire control, while the radio transceiver achieves a maximum output power of 14 dBm and a maximum wireless range of 100 meters. The 802.15.4g protocol with 6LoWPAN enables efficient communication within multi-node mesh networks. Additional features include AES-128 data encryption, NFC functionality, and support for firmware updates, ensuring both security and future-proofing. The device is capable of maintaining mesh networks with up to 300 nodes, storing safely at -40°C to +85°C, and operating in humidity ranges from 0 to 90%, meeting the rigorous demands of outdoor urban lighting installations.

This control device combines innovative RF multi-master functionality, fast and user-friendly luminaire connectivity, and reliable self-healing mesh networking, making it an ideal solution for urban environments focused on smart streetlight deployment. Its durable housing, extended operational lifetime, and advanced communication capabilities ensure secure, adaptable, and long-term performance, supporting the development of intelligent, scalable public lighting networks that meet contemporary standards and future needs.
