The IR product family is a sophisticated lighting solution that combines elegant design, precision optics, and built-in intelligence. Designed by Jörg Boner, the luminaires offer a refined aesthetic while delivering high-performance lighting and ensuring visual comfort and safety. With ewo’s proprietary ewoECP coating, the IR series also boasts exceptional weather resistance, making it suitable for demanding outdoor environments.
One of the standout features of the IR family is its intelligence-ready architecture. The luminaires are designed with internal space reserved for sensors, nodes, and antennas—keeping all smart components discreetly housed within the fixture. This maintains a clean, minimalist exterior without sacrificing connectivity or control. Zhaga or NEMA sockets can also be attached to the housing, offering flexible integration into smart city infrastructures.
Functionally optimized for pole-top and wall-mounted applications, the IR luminaires can be configured with up to three lighting modules, aligned at 0° or 180°, depending on project needs. The family supports both A–Series and T–Series optical systems, allowing for highly customizable beam characteristics. The A–Series supports a wide range of light distributions, enabling over 1.7 billion lens combinations, while factory-installed ewoLightLayers, such as integrated RBL (backlight shield) and AGR (anti-glare protection), further enhance precision and comfort.
Constructed with a low copper content (≤ 0.08%) and the option of enhanced corrosion protection via ewoECP, the IR fixtures are engineered for longevity. In terms of performance, the A–Series supports current feeds from 200–700 mA (max. 650 mA for IR3), with luminous flux reaching up to 10,900 lumens. It offers various color temperatures, from ultra-warm 2,200 K to crisp 5,700 K, with CRI values of 70 and 80, and even 90 upon request. Control options include DALI, 1–10 V, Line Switch, and stand-alone programming, with support for CLO (constant lumen output) and emergency power backup.
The T–Series version allows for a maximum current feed of 225 mA and a luminous flux of up to 2,700 lumens. It features Tunable White color temperature ranging from 2,200 K to 6,500 K and a standard CRI of 80 or higher. It is driven by a DALI T8 interface, allowing for precise control and adaptation to dynamic lighting requirements.
