The Robe Spiider® is a revolutionary LED WashBeam luminaire that has set a new benchmark in lighting performance. Featuring 18 x 40 Watt LEDs and 1 x 60 Watt LED, the Spiider® combines these powerful light sources with a highly efficient 12.5:1 zoom optical system. This allows for a versatile zoom range, from a tight 4° beam to a broad 50° wash, making it a leader in its class. The Spiider® produces a beautiful blend of hard-edge in-air effects, punchy beams, and smooth, homogenized color washes, making it an essential tool for any lighting designer.
What truly sets the Spiider® apart is its inclusion of Robe’s patented MCFE™ – Multi-Coloured Flower Effects. These effects emit sharp, multi-colored spikes of light, with control over speed and rotation direction, enhancing the projection of dynamic, charismatic in-air animations. Dynamic video effects can also be easily created by mapping individual pixels, which can be controlled through DMX desks or media servers using protocols such as sACN or Kling-Net. The Spiider® is equipped with Robe’s innovative lens coating technology, which ensures that the lenses remain bright and clear without scratches or marks, leading to longer intervals between cleaning and higher light output.
The Spiider® offers perfect color and dimming control through both RGBW and CMY color mixing modes. It also features Robe’s advanced 18-bit L3™ Low Light Linearity dimming software for imperceptible fades to black. With variable color temperatures ranging from 2,700K to 8,000K, it can emulate tungsten lamps, simulating the red shift and thermal delay of traditional tungsten lamps for whites from 2,700K to 4,200K. The fixture also includes Robe's DataSwatch™ with a library of 237 pre-programmed colors and tones, providing a wide range of creative possibilities.
The Spiider® boasts a powerful light output of 13,700 lumens, with an impressive 50,100 lux at 5 meters. The optical system offers a zoom range of 4° to 50°, and the fixture’s total lumen output, along with its high-efficiency optical design, ensures maximum brightness with minimal maintenance. Features such as the EasyClean™ lens system, designed for quick and easy cleaning, and the RLCT™ (Robe Lens Coating Technology), which protects the lenses, set the Spiider® apart as a truly innovative lighting solution.
The dynamic effects offered by the Spiider® are wide-ranging and customizable. The fixture supports individual control of each RGBW pixel, variable CTO from 2,700K to 8,000K, and a virtual color wheel with 66 preset swatches. Pre-programmed effects include color rainbow effects with variable speed, pixel effects with color, dimming, strobe chases, waves, and pulses that can be adjusted in speed and direction. The patented MCFE™ creates stunning multi-colored beam effects that rotate in both directions at variable speeds, adding extra impact to any performance.
For control and programming, the Spiider® uses Robe’s advanced ROBE Navigation System 2 (RNS2) with a QVGA Robe touch screen that includes a battery backup and automatic screen positioning via a gravity sensor. The system offers both stand-alone operation with three editable programs and full DMX, RDM, Art-Net, sACN, and Kling-Net protocol support. Additional wireless control is available via CRMX™ technology from Lumen Radio upon request. The fixture also supports a wide variety of DMX protocol modes and allows for precise control over pan, tilt, zoom, dimmer, and color mixing.
The Spiider® features a pan movement range of 540° and a tilt movement range of 220°, both with controllable speeds. The EMS™ (Electronic Motion Stabilizer) system reduces beam deviation caused by truss movement or vibration, ensuring a stable light output. It also includes automatic pan/tilt position correction to keep the fixture operating smoothly during intense performances.
With a robust build, the Spiider® has a maximum ambient temperature of 45°C (113°F) and is designed to operate in a variety of environments. It consumes a maximum of 660W and includes a Neutrik powerCON TRUE1 connector for power in, with DMX and RDM data connectivity provided by locking 3-pin and 5-pin XLR connectors. Additionally, the fixture includes an Ethernet port for easy integration into larger systems.
Compact yet powerful, the Robe Spiider® is an essential fixture for any production that demands dynamic effects, versatile color control, and reliable performance, all within a sleek and highly efficient design.
