Each luminaire integrates THORN’s in-house designed optic portfolio, allowing for precise light control and superior visual comfort. The balanced white technology option and accessory portfolio further optimize light distribution and minimize light trespass, ensuring the luminaires meet strict Dark Sky compliance standards with zero candela at 90° when mounted horizontally.
For connected lighting solutions, Areaflood Pro is compatible with THORN’s UrbaSens connectivity systems. UrbaSens CIVIC CONNECT enables remote access and data analytics via a TALQ-compliant platform, providing detailed insights into CO2 reduction, energy consumption, usage patterns, and heat map visualizations of activity within the illuminated space. UrbaSens SENTINEL allows for adaptive weekly scheduling and motion detection, ensuring light is applied only where and when it is needed, supporting fully autonomous and sustainable lighting. For recreational and training sports areas, including Multi Use Games Areas (MUGA), UrbaSens Play offers flexibility via Bluetooth® connectivity or a physical control panel, helping to reduce overall energy consumption while maintaining optimal lighting performance.
The Areaflood Pro luminaires are future-proof, featuring options for connected drivers, Zhaga Up/Down or NEMA sockets, allowing simple integration of control nodes for fully connected lighting solutions. Electrical options include Class I and Class II variants, DALI dimmable on-board drivers, bi-power line, and Light Reduction Twin Phase models. Built-in surge protection up to 6kV is standard, with optional 10kV surge protection available. Color temperature options include a wide range of CCTs, including 727, 827, 730, 830, 740, 840, 757, and 857, along with balanced white ranging from 827 to 857, and specialized TLCI values for performance television broadcasting applications.
Constructed from die-cast aluminium (EN AC-44300) with C5 corrosion resistance, the luminaires are finished in light grey (close to RAL9006), with over 50 additional RAL finishes available on request. The design features a robust stirrup mounting bracket, available in a cost-effective unpainted ‘GY-S’ option for the Double Medium and Double Large sizes, and includes toughened glass for maximum protection.
