The SOLOdrive 100W compact LED driver family by eldoLED delivers industry-leading dimming precision down to 0.1%, creating natural light effects that mimic incandescent and halogen sources through Dim to Warm technology. SOLOdrive is compatible with a wide range of dimming and control protocols, including 0-10V, DALI, and LEDcode, and can be integrated seamlessly with any dimmer or lighting application. This versatility allows for precise selection of dimming curves, minimum dimming levels, LED current settings, and connectivity to sensors or other intelligent luminaire devices. Wireless communication and control are supported through Bluetooth or Casambi, providing easy integration into smart lighting ecosystems.

Natural dimming with SOLOdrive ensures smooth brightness transitions from full light to dark, with flicker-free performance and adaptable dimming curves. Symbiosis technology enables seamless interoperability between SOLOdrive, LED modules, peripheral controls, and in-luminaire intelligent devices. The LEDcode interface allows fine-tuning of output currents and control logic across a broad range of constant current LED modules. Hybrid HydraDrive technology provides camera- and broadcast-safe dimming performance, making the driver suitable for environments such as TV studios and security-sensitive installations. SOLOdrive also maintains high electrical performance, with universal input voltage compatibility, low inrush current, low total harmonic distortion (THD), and a high power factor for efficient operation.

The electrical input specifications of the SOLOdrive 100W compact driver include a nominal DC voltage range of 120–275V, a maximum input current of 1.05A at 120V/60Hz, and a frequency range of 50–60Hz. Efficiency at full load reaches 90%, with a power factor exceeding 0.94 and THD below 10%. Maximum inrush current is 35A at 240µs for 120V/60Hz operation. Surge protection is rated at 3kV differential mode and 4kV common mode, with standby power consumption under 0.5W.

The output capabilities include a maximum LED output power of 100W across four UL Class 2 outputs. Output current is programmable from 200 to 1050mA in 1mA increments, with a tolerance of ±5% at programmed levels. The LED voltage range spans 2–57V. Control channels are compatible with 0-10V and LEDcode protocols, with dimming ranges from 100% down to 0.1%. Dimming curves include logarithmic (default) and linear options, while Hybrid HydraDrive ensures smooth and flicker-free transitions. The 0-10V input draw is less than 2mA, enabling low-power control integration.

Environmental and thermal performance is designed for reliability. The operating ambient temperature ranges from -40°C to +50°C, with a maximum case temperature of 90°C. Lifetime is rated at 50,000 hours at the maximum case temperature. Thermal protection mechanisms automatically reduce LED output current when the internal driver temperature exceeds preset limits and restore it when the temperature drops. If overheating persists, the driver shuts down to prevent damage. LED output protections include short-circuit, overload, and reverse polarity safeguards. After a short-circuit or open-circuit event, the driver attempts a restart every 400ms. Load overcurrent events are managed by sequentially decreasing LED output until the connected load is within rated limits. Reverse polarity will not harm the driver but may damage connected LEDs.

An external NTC thermistor can be connected to the driver via LEDcode/NTC terminals for temperature-dependent LED current reduction. The output current is reduced by 75% if the thermistor exceeds the maximum allowable temperature, which is configurable through FluxTool software. The default thermistor temperature limit is 70°C, with suitable thermistors including leaded and screw-mount options from Vishay (P/N 238164063473 and NTCASCWE3473J). Input and output wiring is supported via Wago 250 series push-in terminals, compatible with solid or stranded copper wires ranging from 0.5–1.5mm² (AWG 20–16) with a recommended strip length of 9.0mm.
