Equipped with versatile dynamic effects, the Martin Exterior Projection 500 allows users to create stunning visual displays. The color wheel offers eight interchangeable colors plus open, while the gobo wheel features six rotating gobos with indexing and variable rotation. The fixture also includes a variable speed gobo animation effect, along with a prism wheel that supports two interchangeable prisms and allows for prism rotation and indexing. Additionally, a motorized frost feature provides a wash effect, and the electronic dimming system offers constant control from 0 to 100% intensity with 16-bit precision.

The fixture's motorized focus allows for easy adjustments from 3 meters (9.8 feet) to infinity, while the shutter function includes strobe and pulse effects, as well as instant open and blackout capabilities. For control, the Exterior™ Projection 500 supports DMX, RDM, and standalone modes, with onboard configuration and an OLED display for easy setup and monitoring. The fixture operates using 8-bit control for basic color and effect selections and 16-bit control for more advanced functions like gobo indexing, rotation, focus, and intensity. It complies with USITT DMX512-A and ANSI/ESTA E1.20 standards for reliable performance in professional environments.

With a light source consisting of a 230 W white light LED engine, the Martin Exterior Projection 500 offers a color temperature of 8300 K and a Color Rendering Index (CRI) of 72. The LED has a lifespan of 20,000 hours, maintaining more than 70% luminous output over time. The fixture provides various beam angles, from narrow to very wide, with specific photometric data available for each setting. The narrow beam offers 5000 lumens with a peak center of 203,000 cd, while the medium beam delivers 6100 lumens and a center peak of 77,000 cd.

Constructed from durable cast aluminum, the Exterior™ Projection 500 features a hard anodized, metallic grey lacquered finish and a 5 mm anti-reflection coated tempered glass front. With an ingress protection rating of IP66 and an impact resistance of IK08, it is designed to withstand harsh outdoor conditions. It also offers excellent corrosion resistance, rated C5-M, making it suitable for marine and high-corrosivity environments. The fixture is vibration-resistant and has a low Effective Projected Area (EPA) of 0.15 m².

The Martin Exterior Projection 500 is designed with installation flexibility in mind. It features an adjustable yoke for mounting and can be installed in various orientations. The fixture is suitable for wet locations but should not be submerged in water. The power and data connections are protected with IP68 cable glands, and the fixture is powered by a 100-240/277 V nominal AC power supply with auto-ranging electronic switch-mode.
