The Martin ELP CL (Color) LED ellipsoidal fixtures are engineered to deliver exceptional luminance, vibrant color rendering, and reliable performance that lighting professionals have come to expect from Martin. With precision Danish design, the ELP CL introduces groundbreaking features such as the industry-first gear-based Fine Focus system for exact focusing control, and the innovative Fast Focus function, which enables fixture focusing without the need for active data input. It supports 16-bit dimming across four selectable curves and includes 26 color presets that align with industry-standard color filters. The fixture is available with four Martin lens tube options—19°, 26°, 36°, and 50°—and is also compatible with third-party lens tubes and a variety of accessories such as gel frames and gobos, offering maximum versatility for lighting designers and rental houses.
Designed for superior performance, the ELP CL stands out with exceptional output, advanced optics, and rich color rendering. Its compatibility with the ELP Zoom Lenses—available in 15–30° and 25–50° beam angles and in both black and white housings—adds even more flexibility for diverse lighting applications. At the core of its performance are optics developed in Denmark by the same team behind the MAC Encore series, ensuring a flat field of illumination for seamless blending and consistent coverage across fixtures.
The ELP platform is also engineered with cost-effectiveness in mind. It allows for an easy transition from traditional to LED ellipsoidals by supporting commonly used third-party lens tubes and accessories. This reduces the need for additional investment, as users can reuse existing components such as gel frames, gobo holders, rotators, and more. The ergonomic design enhances user comfort and ease of use, with carefully positioned tilt knobs and a well-balanced center of gravity near the yoke for more intuitive handling.
Functionality takes a front seat in the ELP CL, featuring tools that raise the bar for LED ellipsoidal fixtures. The gear-driven Fine Focus ensures your focus stays locked precisely where it’s needed, eliminating drift and the need for constant refocusing. Fast Focus enables temporary full-output illumination for 60 seconds without active DMX data, streamlining the setup process. Additionally, halation color correction eliminates unwanted blue and brown halos, ensuring clean, crisp projection when used with Martin lens tubes.
The ELP CL houses cutting-edge LED technology, boasting a high-output RGBAL Luxeon Rebel LED engine. In High Output mode, it delivers an impressive 6,900 lumens with a CRI of 85, while the High Quality mode offers 5,900 lumens with a CRI of 90, achieving a consistent 6,000K color temperature. The flicker-free performance ensures reliability for both live and broadcast applications, and users can fine-tune output with 16-bit dimming and selectable dimming curves.
Control and programming flexibility is built in, with support for DMX and standalone operation. Users can address and configure settings via the onboard OLED display or remotely through RDM. The fixture supports 16-bit control for intensity, CTC, and RGBLA channels, and is compliant with USITT DMX512-A and ANSI/ESTA E1.20 RDM standards. Pulse width modulation ranges from 600 to 2400 Hz, ensuring smooth and quiet operation across a range of environments.
The ELP CL’s dynamic lighting effects include RGBLA color mixing, a wide color temperature range from 2000K to 10,000K, and 26 preset colors. It also offers smooth 0–100% electronic dimming, strobe and pulse effects with variable speeds, and instant electronic shutter control for blackout or full-intensity states.
Photometrically, the fixture excels with a light engine luminous output of 20,000 lumens. In High Output mode, the fixture delivers 6,900 lumens with a CRI above 85 and TM-30 Gamut Index over 111. High Quality mode reduces the output slightly to 5,900 lumens but improves the CRI to over 90 and enhances the TLCI to 87 for critical visual applications. CCT remains consistent, measured at 6000K ±250K.
Crafted from die-cast aluminum, the ELP CL is available in black or white finishes and is IP20-rated for indoor professional environments. It supports A- and B-size gobos and a standard 159 mm x 159 mm color frame, accommodating a wide range of custom and stock projection options.
Connectivity options include Neutrik PowerCON TRUE1 in/thru connectors for AC power and 5-pin XLR for DMX/RDM data. The fixture operates on a 100–240V AC auto-ranging power supply and draws a typical 259 watts at full output, with only 5 watts in idle mode. Power factor ratings remain high across voltages, ensuring efficiency and consistency.
Thermally, the fixture employs a quiet, forced-air cooling system to maintain performance in ambient temperatures ranging from 0°C to 40°C. At full output, it dissipates approximately 1000 BTU/hr, making it suitable for demanding stage, studio, and architectural applications.
