The Time Direct Ceiling luminaire features a linear lighting system combined with advanced deflection technology, designed to meet European office lighting standards. Its LED configuration makes it ideal for venues and buildings where energy efficiency, extended lifespan, and superior energy performance are essential. As part of the extensive Time family, this luminaire incorporates the latest LED technology alongside unique optical qualities, housed within a robust frame made of extruded aluminum and cast zinc end caps.
An extension of the Time family is the Time track, where the direct light element is replaced by a DALI-controlled track system. Available in two sizes for continuous installation, Time track allows seamless mixing of luminaire sections and track sections without disrupting the overall design. This system supports individual programming of luminaires attached to the track, enhancing flexibility and control.
The Time Direct Ceiling luminaires can be angled at 90°, with the light direction always defaulting to the right, though left-directed versions are available upon request. The luminaire offers a variety of diffuser options, including microprismatic acrylic glass combined with BrightView optical film, an optical diffuser made of MIRO material paired with BrightView film, a micro lamella louvre in lacquered aluminum with BrightView film, and opal frosted acrylic glass. Additionally, a microprism diffuser without optical film is also available. A honeycomb louvre option can be supplied for single luminaires upon request.
Installation is straightforward, with the frame snapping securely against the enclosed ceiling profile. The system is mechanically connected via an eccentric lock, and the first luminaire supplied includes end caps to complete the installation. Connections come with a 3-meter white cable, either with plug or flying leads. Single luminaires include halogen-free cables sized 3G0.75 mm² or 5G0.75 mm² for dimmable versions, while system starters use 3G1.5 mm² or 5G1.5 mm² cables. Quick connectors are available as options, and black cables can be requested. System luminaires are delivered without cables but with quick connectors to ensure efficient electrical connection between luminaire sections.
The integrated LED light source offers color temperatures of 3000K or 4000K with a minimum color rendering index (CRI) of 90, ensuring high-quality, natural light. Its lifespan is rated at L100B10 for 50,000 hours, featuring new technology that improves efficiency by about 20% compared to earlier CRI 90 versions, making its energy consumption comparable to equivalent CRI 80 sources. Tunable White options are available on request. This product carries an energy efficiency classification of D.
Lumen output varies by diffuser type and driver programming, with microprism combined with BrightView film offering approximately 1210 lumens per meter at 97 lumens per watt for high efficiency, and up to 2070 lumens per meter at 100 lumens per watt for high output. The optical louvre diffuser provides around 1980 lumens per meter at 95 lumens per watt, while the microlouvre yields about 1140 lumens per meter at 55 lumens per watt. The opal diffuser delivers the highest output, at approximately 2330 lumens per meter and 113 lumens per watt.
The luminaire is equipped with a Philips LED driver Touch and DALI system, which uses amplitude modulation to produce flicker-free light and supports dimming from 1% to 100%. It comes pre-programmed with Constant Lumen Output (CLO) to maintain consistent brightness over time. The LED driver is designed for a lifespan of 100,000 hours, with a failure probability of less than 10%. For enhanced functionality, a ‘smart’ driver option is available, which collects energy consumption and performance data when paired with the Organic Response intelligent lighting control system.
Additional features include the option for black or grey finishes at no extra cost, and for installations using Organic Response, system optimization support is available. The Time track system uses a black Global Trac Pulse connected on a single phase and is offered in two sizes (1130 mm and 2250 mm) both as starter and system units. It includes 94 cm and 2-meter track sections for mounting luminaires with track adapters. Controlled through DALI, the system allows individual control of track-mounted luminaires. It is important to consider system balance when larger track-mounted spotlights are used.
Overall, the Time Direct Ceiling luminaire offers a flexible, energy-efficient, and design-conscious lighting solution suitable for modern office and commercial environments.
