The STR9® Inground Color Changing luminaire is a high-performance, linear inground LED fixture designed for wall washing and grazing applications. Engineered for reliability and optical precision, it features a full glass top and an advanced glare control system that ensures visual comfort without compromising brightness. With the ability to deliver up to 2040 lumens per meter (626 lumens per foot), it offers exceptional color-changing capabilities powered by GVA’s proprietary COLOR-AMP® technology, which boosts light output up to three times in specific colors. This technology, combined with refined optics, provides outstanding color mixing with no visible striations or separation, along with a homogenous light output directly adjacent to the luminaire. It also ensures seamless color matching with the FL Series for design consistency across installations.
Built with durability and performance in mind, the STR9® features a trimless design with a stainless steel top frame and an aluminum body that enhances thermal efficiency. Its compact form factor—measuring just 77 mm (3.03 inches) in width and 108 mm (4.2 inches) in height—makes it suitable for discreet integration into a variety of architectural settings. The luminaire boasts an IP68 rating, achieved through a proprietary sealing process and a robust extruded, anodized aluminum UNIBODY™ construction. Each fixture undergoes electronic micro leak detection to ensure long-term sealing integrity. It also meets the demanding 3G ANSI C136.31-2010 vibration standards for bridge and overpass applications and features an IK10-rated, 10 mm thick optically clear tempered glass lens that resists yellowing over time.
The STR9® supports DMX control and is fully compatible with GVA’s power-data equipment. Each 300 mm section can be individually addressed, with fixtures capable of self-addressing to streamline setup. Through-wiring is made easy via snap-in and lock connectors, enabling seamless end-to-end connections for continuous lighting runs. Available in standard lengths of 600 mm (2 ft), 900 mm (3 ft), 1200 mm (4 ft), and 1500 mm (5 ft), and rated for dry, damp, or wet locations, the STR9® Inground delivers both versatility and robust performance for demanding outdoor and architectural lighting projects.
