The lumDATA series, comprising DALI-2 parts 251, 252, and 253, is an independent dimmable constant current LED driver with integrated strain-relief. It provides a dimming range from 1 to 100 percent and supports a maximum output power of 58 W, making it suitable for a wide range of downlight and spotlight applications. The driver achieves a nominal lifetime of up to 100,000 hours and carries a five-year manufacturer guarantee under the specified conditions, ensuring long-term reliability for professional lighting installations.
The housing of the lumDATA driver is made from robust white Makrolon material, offering IP20 protection for indoor use. Its strain-relief system includes a loop-through function that accommodates cable cross-sections up to 2.5 mm². The driver interfaces with multiple control standards via the one4all system, supporting DALI-2, DSI, switchDIM, and corridorFUNCTION protocols. Push terminals at both 45° and 0° angles facilitate easy wiring, while NFC capabilities allow precise output current adjustment in 1-mA steps and enable multiple programming across a full carton box.
lumDATA fully complies with DALI-2 standards, including part 105 for firmware updates, part 251 for luminaire data, part 252 for energy reporting, and part 253 for diagnostics and maintenance. It incorporates constant light output functionality (eCLO) to maintain consistent brightness levels, and power-up fading at AC ensures smooth activation. The fade2zero function enables controlled switch-off of the driver. A service monitor logs specific operational events, supporting maintenance and performance tracking. Protective features include safeguards against overtemperature, short-circuit, overload, no-load, input voltage variations, and reduced surge amplification. The driver is suitable for integration into emergency escape lighting systems according to EN 50172.
In terms of electrical performance, the lumDATA driver operates on a rated supply voltage of 220–240 V with AC voltage tolerance from 198–264 V and DC voltage range from 176–280 V, supporting mains frequencies of 0, 50, and 60 Hz. It provides low standby power consumption below 0.142 W and a no-load input power of 0.31 W. Typical full-load current is 276 mA at 230 V, 50 Hz, with a low total harmonic distortion of less than 5 percent and a power factor (λ) ranging from 0.71 to 0.99 across its operating range. Starting times are rapid, with DC mode activation in less than 0.3 seconds, AC mode in under 0.7 seconds, and AC/DC switchover within 0.1 seconds. The driver shuts off in less than 0.01 seconds under full load.
The lumDATA driver maintains output current tolerance of ±5 percent and supports a maximum non-repetitive output peak current of 2100 mA. Low-frequency current ripple remains within ±5 percent, while output P_ST_LM and SVM at full load are maintained at ≤1 and ≤0.4, respectively. Maximum output voltage is 60 V, and the dimming range extends from 1 to 100 percent. The driver offers robust surge protection, with mains surge capability of 1 kV between L-N, 2 kV between L/N-PE, and IP20 protection rating. With compact dimensions of 200 mm length, 70 mm width, and 30 mm height, the lumDATA driver combines flexible installation, reliable performance, and long-term durability for professional indoor lighting projects.
