Pilo Ceiling is a contemporary lighting solution that merges elegant design with advanced lighting technology, crafted to enhance a wide range of public environments. Designed by Olle Lundberg, Pilo embodies a clean, minimalist aesthetic that fits seamlessly into office spaces, entrances, corridors, and communal areas. Its visually refined form is matched by meticulous attention to surface detailing and functionality, offering both ambient quality and technical performance.
Constructed with a painted, die-cast aluminium housing, Pilo features a UV-resistant polycarbonate diffuser and a highly reflective PET reflector that ensures effective and even light distribution. Three integrated grooves in the housing allow external cable routing with 90-degree distribution, simplifying installation whether ceiling- or wall-mounted.
Pilo is engineered to support smart lighting control systems, including the Organic Response wireless solution. This system utilizes integrated PIR sensors that respond to occupancy and communicate with nearby sensors via infrared and radio signals, dynamically adjusting light levels based on actual usage. For further flexibility, Pilo can also be configured with a master-and-follower setup using integrated microwave sensors that offer on/off switching or three-level corridor functions.
An optional emergency lighting function is available, integrating a DALI-2 interface with automated testing and monitoring, supported by a long-life NiMH battery. The luminaire supports various control methods, including standard on/off, DALI dimming, motion sensing with tri-level dimming, daylight harvesting, and wireless networking. Motion-activated versions can detect presence and adjust from 100% brightness down to standby levels or switch off entirely based on dwell times.
Pilo comes equipped with an energy-efficient LED light source, available in 3000K or 4000K color temperatures with a standard CRI of 80 (CRI 90 available upon request). Its driver supports DSI/DALI dimming from 1% to 100%, using amplitude modulation to eliminate flicker. The luminaire includes pre-programmed Constant Light Output (CLO) functionality, maintaining consistent light levels across its lifespan. With CLO, the fixture achieves L100 at 50,000 hours, while without CLO it maintains L93 at the same lifespan. The energy efficiency of the AC version is rated class F according to EU Regulation No 2019/2015.
Weighing just 1.5 kg, Pilo is easily mounted with four screws and features through-wiring capabilities with push-in terminals. This combination of sleek Scandinavian design and versatile control options makes Pilo an intelligent, adaptable solution for modern architectural lighting needs.
