Time Square Direct Ceiling is a flush mount linear luminaire inspired by a classic archetypal design, characterized by balanced proportions and incorporating the same unique light engine as its original predecessor. Its timeless aesthetic paired with effective light emission makes Time Square an ideal lighting system designed for longevity and enduring performance.
This extensive luminaire family features the latest LED technology alongside distinctive optical qualities, crafted with a frame made of extruded aluminum and end caps in cast zinc. To optimize the lighting effect, Time Square offers a choice of four diffuser types, each enhanced with a specially applied optical film from BrightView that delivers unique light qualities. The diffuser options include microprismatic acrylic glass, optical diffuser made from MIRO material, a micro lamella louvre in lacquered aluminum, and opal frosted acrylic glass. Additionally, a honeycomb louvre is available upon request for single luminaires.
An extension of the Time family, Time Track replaces the direct light source with a DALI-controlled track system. Available in two sizes, this track supports continuous installations, allowing flexible mixing of luminaire and track sections without compromising the design. Luminaires installed on these tracks can be individually programmed through DALI for precise lighting control.
Installation is straightforward with the Time Square frame snapping securely onto the enclosed ceiling profile. The system luminaire is supplied with end caps for the first unit, and subsequent luminaires connect mechanically via an eccentric lock. The luminaire complies with the latest standards SS-EN 12464-1, following guidelines from Ljus & Rum and the Swedish Work Environment Authority. Electrical connection comes with a 3-meter white cable with either a plug or flying leads, and various cable types are available depending on configuration needs. System luminaires are typically supplied without cable but include quick connectors for seamless electrical integration.
The Time Square includes an integrated LED light source offering color temperatures of 3000K or 4000K with a minimum CRI of 90, ensuring excellent color rendering. Its lifespan is rated at L100B10 50,000 hours, incorporating new technology that achieves roughly 20% higher efficiency than previous CRI 90 versions, making its energy performance comparable to CRI 80 light sources. Tunable White options are also available upon request.
Energy classification for the product is rated class D. Lumen output varies based on diffuser and driver settings, with examples including approximately 1210 lumens per meter at 97 lumens per watt for microprismatic diffusers with high efficiency, and up to 2330 lumens per meter at 113 lumens per watt for the opal diffuser option.
The luminaire is equipped with a Philips LED driver featuring DALI dimming from 1 to 100%, providing flicker-free light through amplitude modulation. The driver comes pre-programmed with Constant Lumen Output for consistent brightness over time and is designed for a lifetime of 100,000 hours with less than 10% failure probability. For advanced functionality, a ‘smart’ driver option compatible with the Organic Response intelligent lighting control system is available, enabling energy consumption and performance monitoring.
All Time Square luminaires provide 100% downlight distribution. The system also includes a 90-degree option, which angles the luminaire to the right by default, with left-directed versions available on request. Color options include black and grey, offered at no additional cost.
The Time Track system integrates a black Global Trac Pulse mounted on one phase and comes in two sizes (1130 mm and 2250 mm) as both start and system units. Track sections of 94 cm and 2 m are provided for mounting luminaires with track adapters. Controlled via DALI, this system allows individual control of track-mounted luminaires. When using larger track-mounted spotlights, system balance considerations are recommended to maintain optimal performance. For systems incorporating Organic Response lighting control, consultation is advised to optimize setup and integration.
