Emergency LED Driver with STAR Wireless Reporting, Bluetooth Connectivity, and Compliance with Life Safety Code Standards

The IOTA® ILB CP20 HE AELR HV Emergency LED Driver offers reliable performance and modern convenience for ensuring code-compliant emergency lighting. This UL Listed LED emergency driver allows the same fixture to operate seamlessly in both normal and emergency modes. In the event of a power outage, the ILB CP20 HE AELR HV automatically switches from the standard LED driver to its internal emergency battery supply, powering the LED array for up to 90 minutes. The unit combines a battery, charger, and converter circuit within a single enclosure, capable of delivering 20 watts of constant power at an output voltage range of 50–200 VDC. The constant power design ensures consistent illumination throughout the entire emergency runtime, maintaining safe egress lighting without performance degradation.

Equipped with Bluetooth® technology, the ILB CP20 HE AELR HV enables wireless connectivity for convenient monitoring and reporting. Users can connect the driver to a mobile device and access emergency self-testing records through the CLAIRITY™+ app, which is available for free on iOS and Android platforms. The driver is fully compatible with the STAR (Self-Testing Automated Reporting) tool, allowing users to view, export, and email monthly and annual test reports directly from their mobile device. This wireless functionality simplifies emergency lighting maintenance, providing a streamlined approach to compliance documentation.

The ILB CP20 HE AELR HV is engineered for durability and versatility, with a high-temperature, long-life nickel-cadmium (NiCd) battery that is fully recyclable. It supports a wide voltage input of 120–277V at 50/60Hz and an auto-adjusting output range of 50–200 VDC to accommodate various LED arrays. The driver features auto-sensing non-Class 2 output, ensuring compatibility with higher-voltage fixtures. Integrated self-diagnostic circuitry conducts automatic 60-second monthly and 90-minute annual tests, verifying emergency capability in accordance with Life Safety Code requirements. Diagnostic results can be communicated to Atrius® or Clairity+™ applications for efficient record-keeping.

Constructed with a galvanized steel enclosure, the ILB CP20 HE AELR HV includes a three-color illuminated test switch and charge indicator for simple status monitoring. It is suitable for both switched and unswitched fixtures, as well as damp and plenum locations. Certified in the CA Title 20 Appliance Efficiency Database as a small battery charger, the driver meets or exceeds NEC, IBC, and Life Safety Code emergency lighting requirements. Its UL 924 Listing and classification to FTBV, combined with field or factory installation options, ensure broad compliance and installation flexibility. The driver is RoHS compliant and backed by a 5-year warranty, reflecting IOTA’s commitment to quality and longevity.

With its STAR-enabled wireless reporting, constant power performance, broad environmental compatibility, and efficient, code-compliant operation, the ILB CP20 HE AELR HV represents a comprehensive solution for modern emergency LED lighting systems, simplifying both maintenance and regulatory compliance for facility managers and electrical contractors alike.
