The lumDATA DALI-2 2-channel LED driver is an independent, dimmable constant current solution designed for flexible lighting applications. It supports DALI-2 DT8 control and includes strain-relief functionality, allowing secure cable management for both standalone and integrated luminaire use. The driver accommodates luminaires of protection class I and II, with output current adjustable between 350 and 1,050 mA via I-SELECT 2 plugs or DALI configuration. With a maximum output power of 38 W and efficiency up to 87 percent, it maintains low standby power consumption below 0.25 W while offering a nominal lifetime of up to 100,000 hours.
The housing is constructed from durable polycarbonate in black, rated for IP20 protection, and incorporates a strain-relief mechanism with loop-through functionality. Interface options include one4all compatibility for DALI-2 DT8, DSI, switchDIM, and corridorFUNCTION V2, as well as colourSWITCH support. Terminal connections are available in 45° or 0° push terminals, providing flexibility for installation.
Functionality includes precise output current adjustment in 1-mA steps through DALI or I-SELECT 2, and a constant light output (CLO) feature to maintain consistent brightness levels. The colourSWITCH interface enables predefined colour control, and both switchDIM and colourSWITCH retain memory functions for last-used settings. The driver incorporates smooth power-up fading and fade2zero switch-off, with configuration possible via DALI. Protection features cover overtemperature, short-circuit, overload, no-load, and reduced surge amplification scenarios, and the device is suitable for emergency escape lighting systems in accordance with EN 50172.
The lumDATA driver is particularly suitable for retail and hospitality environments, including spotlight and downlight applications, and it supports tunable white lighting with a colour temperature range from 2,700 to 6,500 K. Rated supply voltage ranges from 220 to 240 V, with AC and DC ranges of 198–264 V and 176–288 V respectively, and mains frequency from 0/50/60 Hz. Overvoltage protection covers 320 V AC for up to 48 hours. Typical full-load current at 230 V, 50 Hz ranges between 96 and 192 mA, while standby current consumption remains below 0.25 W. In-rush current peaks at 26.4 A for a duration of 224 µs.
The driver demonstrates high efficiency with a power factor above 0.96, THD below 10 percent, and fast start times of less than 0.6 seconds for AC mode and 0.4 seconds for DC mode. The AC/DC switchover time is under 0.2 seconds, and turn-off occurs within 0.02 seconds at full load. Output current tolerance is ±3 percent, with maximum non-repetitive peak current within 20 percent above nominal. Output LF current ripple remains below ±2 percent, output P_ST_LM at full load is ≤1, and output SVM at full load is ≤0.4. Maximum output voltage is 60 V, while the mains surge capability is 1 kV between L-N and 2 kV between L/N-PE, with output-side surge below 0.5 kV. Physical dimensions measure 215 mm in length, 70 mm in width, and 31 mm in height, with an expected operational lifetime up to 100,000 hours and a five-year manufacturer guarantee.
