The Cree KR Series specification-grade LED downlights are engineered for new construction applications where high performance, excellent color quality, and long-term consistency are essential. These fixtures offer light outputs ranging from 850 to 6,750 lumens while operating between 13 and 75 watts. Designed to replace compact fluorescent and up to 150W PSMH lighting, the KR Series achieves efficacy up to 90 lumens per watt. Each unit utilizes Cree’s proprietary TrueWhite® Technology to deliver exceptional 90+ CRI light with outstanding color rendering, high R9 values, and superior color consistency over time.
Available in 4″ and 6″ round and square aperture modules, the KR Series accommodates a wide range of commercial lighting applications. Trim options include soft satin glow clear reflectors with matching, white, or black flanges, and beam control is delivered via a precisely engineered optical system with an approximate beam angle of 70°. The durable Alzak aluminum cone construction ensures both performance and visual comfort, with ceiling compatibility up to 3 inches thick and quick mounting brackets for fast installation.
The KR Series is built with flexibility in mind. It supports multiple control and dimming protocols including 0-10V dimming to 5%, Lutron EcoSystem® dimming to 1%, and Cree's SmartCast® Technology for wireless control with integrated motion and ambient light sensors. SmartCast-enabled luminaires provide intuitive setup and extreme energy savings up to 70%, all while maintaining seamless code compliance. These luminaires are equipped for use in complex lighting control networks, capable of wireless communication via 2.4GHz AES-encrypted mesh with a range of up to 300 feet in open air and support for up to 250 devices per network.
Each fixture is thermally protected and suitable for use in damp locations. Units are cULus Listed, comply with FCC Part 15 regulations, and meet RoHS requirements. Emergency battery backup models deliver a minimum of 90 minutes of illumination with either 10W or 20W configurations depending on lumen package. SmartCast versions require constant unswitched power and utilize Cree’s OneButton™ Setup for auto-calibration, daylight harvesting, and network integration.
KR downlights operate over a wide input voltage range (120V, 277V, 347V) and in temperatures from -18˚C to +40˚C. Their durable construction allows for below-ceiling service access to drivers and optics, and each fixture includes QR code labeling for access to installation guides, warranty information, and service records.
Available lumen packages include 1,000 lm (13W), 1,340 lm (16W), 1,970 lm (24W), 2,810 lm (33W), 3,760 lm (44W), and 6,490 lm (75W), with support for correlated color temperatures of 2700K, 3000K, 3500K, 4000K, and 5000K. The KR Series is assembled in the USA by Cree Lighting using domestic and imported components and is backed by a 10-year limited warranty for the luminaire and a 5-year warranty for SmartCast® accessories.
