This LED emergency driver is a self-contained module specifically designed for emergency lighting applications, featuring a built-in self-test function in accordance with IEC 62034. The driver operates in both mains and emergency modes, ensuring reliable performance under all conditions. It operates in constant current mode and maintains a low profile casing with a cross-section of 21 × 30 mm, allowing discreet integration into luminaires. The driver includes selectable operating times for one, two, or three-hour rated durations, adjustable via jumper settings, and is equipped with a two-color status display LED for easy monitoring. A “Rest mode” function is also included to optimize energy consumption, while all outputs, including the powerLED, battery, status LED, and test switch, are SELV classified for safety.

The battery management system of this emergency driver incorporates an intelligent charging system with multiple protection features, including deep discharge protection, temperature protection, and reverse polarity protection. It uses Tridonic LiFeGuard LiFePO4 batteries, which include overcharge and overdischarge safeguards to ensure safe operation. These batteries have a design life of up to 12 years and come with an eight-year guarantee, offering long-term reliability and low maintenance requirements. After activation of the deep discharge protection, the driver continues to consume very low energy, preserving battery longevity and safety.

Electrical specifications include a rated supply voltage of 220–240 V AC with an input range of 198–264 V at a mains frequency of 50/60 Hz. The driver provides overvoltage protection up to 320 V for 48 hours and surge protection of 1 kV between line and neutral, 2 kV between line/neutral and PE, and less than 2 kV at the output side against PE. The typical output current and low-frequency current ripple are carefully managed, with output current tolerance of ±10% and LF ripple at full load of ±5%. Maximum open circuit voltage is 15 V, and the output is protected against short circuits, open circuits, and double loads. The mains voltage changeover threshold is in accordance with EN 60598-2-22.

The driver supports safe operation across an ambient temperature range from –25 °C to 55 °C and can sustain a maximum casing temperature of 75 °C. The unit is rated IP20 for protection and offers a long operational lifetime of up to 100,000 hours, backed by a five-year guarantee. This combination of intelligent battery management, SELV classification, low energy consumption, and extended durability makes the driver ideal for reliable, low-maintenance emergency lighting installations in offices, retail spaces, healthcare facilities, and public buildings.
