CBU-PWM4-LR is a Bluetooth-controllable, four-channel PWM dimmer designed for constant voltage LED loads, including LED strips and constant voltage LED modules. The dimmer is installed between a 12–24 VDC power supply and the LED load, providing precise control over multiple channels. Its four-channel capability makes it an ideal solution for RGBW and tunable white (TW) lighting applications, allowing for versatile color and brightness control. The device supports a maximum combined output current of 6 A, which can be freely distributed across all channels. Protection features are built in to safeguard against overvoltage, overcurrent, and short-circuit conditions, ensuring reliable and safe operation.
Control of the CBU-PWM4-LR is achieved through the Casambi App, which is compatible with both iOS and Android devices, as well as through conventional wall switches. The Casambi App, available free of charge from the Apple App Store and Google Play Store, allows users to access a full range of control features. This includes individual channel control, scene recall, and integration into larger lighting systems. By connecting with other Casambi-enabled devices, the CBU-PWM4-LR can function in small setups controlling a single luminaire or as part of a full-featured intelligent mesh network, supporting up to 250 units that communicate automatically to form a self-organizing system.
The dimmer operates in ambient temperatures ranging from -20°C to +45°C, with a maximum case temperature of +75°C. It is suitable for storage conditions between -25°C and +75°C and can operate in environments with relative humidity up to 80% non-condensing. The tc point for heat management is clearly marked on the enclosure. For installation, the device uses connectors compatible with solid and stranded wires ranging from 0.75–1.5 mm² (14–22 AWG) with a recommended wire strip length of 6–7 mm and screw torque force of 0.4 Nm. Maximum input/output cable length is 3 meters.
Mechanically, the CBU-PWM4-LR measures 72.6 x 30.0 x 18.0 mm and weighs 23 grams. It carries an IP20 rating, making it suitable for indoor use only, and holds CE and AU/NZ certifications. The device operates with an input voltage of 12–24 VDC (Class II) and a maximum input current of 6.0 A. No-load standby power consumption is under 0.3 W. The output voltage mirrors the input range of 12–24 VDC, with a maximum output power of 144 W at 24 VDC and 72 W at 12 VDC. The maximum output current of 6.0 A can be divided freely across all four channels. Minimum load requirements are 3 W. The dimmer uses Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) at a frequency of 400 Hz for precise dimming control.
The CBU-PWM4-LR is equipped with a radio transceiver operating at 2402–2480 MHz with a maximum output power of +8 dBm, enabling reliable wireless communication within the Casambi mesh network for full remote control and integration.
