The CBU-PWM4-4-LR is a Bluetooth-controllable, Casambi-enabled four-channel PWM dimmer specifically developed for constant voltage LED loads, including LED strips and constant voltage LED modules. It is installed between a 12–24 VDC power supply and the LED load, allowing precise control over each connected lighting element. The dimmer’s four independent channels make it an ideal solution for RGBW and tunable white (TW) applications, enabling users to achieve dynamic color control and customized lighting effects. The device supports a maximum combined output current of 4 A, which can be freely distributed across all four channels according to the specific needs of the lighting installation. For enhanced safety and reliability, the CBU-PWM4-4-LR incorporates protection mechanisms against overvoltage, overcurrent, and short-circuit conditions.
Control of the CBU-PWM4-4-LR is accomplished via the Casambi App, available for iOS and Android devices, as well as through traditional wall switches. The Casambi App can be downloaded at no cost from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store. The dimmer can operate as part of a simple single-luminaire setup or be integrated into a larger Casambi-controlled network. Within a full-featured lighting system, up to 250 units can automatically form an intelligent mesh network, providing reliable and scalable wireless control across multiple fixtures and zones.
The dimmer operates with a voltage input range of 12–24 VDC, Class 2, and has a maximum input current of 4.0 A. Its no-load standby power consumption is less than 0.3 W. The output voltage corresponds to the input voltage range, with maximum power ratings of 96 W at 24 VDC and 48 W at 12 VDC. Each of the four channels can be allocated freely within the total output current limit of 4.0 A, and the minimum load requirement is 3 W. The device uses pulse width modulation (PWM) at a frequency of 400 Hz to achieve smooth and precise dimming performance.
The CBU-PWM4-4-LR communicates over Bluetooth using a 2.402–2.480 MHz radio frequency, with a maximum output power of +8 dBm. Its operating environment allows ambient temperatures from -4° to 113°F (-20° to +45°C), with a maximum case temperature of 167°F (+75°C). The storage temperature range is -13° to 167°F (-25° to +75°C), and relative humidity should remain between 0 and 80 percent, non-condensing. The device includes a marked tc point on the enclosure to indicate the maximum case temperature.
Connection to the dimmer is achieved with solid or stranded wires in the 14–22 AWG range, with a recommended wire strip length of 1/4” and a screw torque of 0.4 Nm. Input and output cable lengths can extend up to 120 inches, allowing flexible installation in a variety of settings. The compact CBU-PWM4-4-LR measures 2.86 x 1.18 x 0.71 inches and weighs 0.82 oz, making it suitable for confined installation spaces within luminaires or control boxes. Its IP20 rating ensures protection for indoor use only, making it an ideal component for controlled interior lighting systems.
