The Squiggle™ suspended continuous lighting system is a dynamic curvilinear solution designed to follow and enhance architectural expression. With its ability to twist and flow through space, Squiggle is built to wrap around structural elements, conforming to architectural lines and becoming an integral design feature. It offers a fully customizable lighting experience with a combination of curves in various radii, straight sections, and joiners, allowing designers to create bold, unique configurations that move with the rhythm of the space.
Constructed from a combination of steel and aluminum, Squiggle is finished in durable powder coating with standard options including black, Silver Metallic, and white. For wood grain finishes, the canopy is finished in white. The fixture is suspended via steel cables, with a recommended minimum mounting height of 12 inches (305mm) from the ceiling for white LEDs and 24 inches (610mm) for colored LEDs in the direct/indirect configuration. A silver braided power cable adds a clean, polished detail to the suspended form.
Squiggle offers flexibility in both white and RGBW LED configurations. For RGBW models, the fixture includes integral high power factor (HPF) electronic drivers and DMX interfaces for 120-277V (EU-240V) operation. These require an external DMX controller. For white LED versions, integral HPF electronic drivers are provided for the same voltage range, also housed within the fixture body. Both configurations ensure efficient and reliable power management, while the driver integration supports a streamlined installation.
The fixture uses a combination of opal polycarbonate diffusers for direct lighting and clear polycarbonate diffusers for indirect light, ensuring smooth, consistent illumination across the system. Squiggle can also integrate into your building’s data infrastructure via Power over Ethernet (PoE) connectivity, supporting smart lighting control and system monitoring.
An integral emergency lighting system is available, offering 1.5 hours of backup illumination in North America and 3 hours in the EU. This self-contained module includes an inverter, NiCad batteries, LED charge indicator, and test switch (North America only), but is not available for use with 347V power supplies. Luminaires come pre-wired with factory-installed branch circuit wiring and quick connectors, and are designed for mechanical mounting directly over a junction box (by others, in North America).
Squiggle’s performance is backed by a reported L70 lifespan exceeding 50,000 hours at 25°C (77°F), delivering consistent lumens and efficacy based on 4000K color temperature with a minimum CRI of 80 for white LEDs. The fixture is damp-rated, making it suitable for environments where moisture is present. For compliance with seismic safety standards, seismic bracing kits are available upon request.
