With the ability to deliver vibrant wash lighting, tight beam effects, and dynamic pixel mapping, the Focus Flex L7 is ideal for event production, touring, and permanent installations in venues such as theatres, nightclubs, churches, and concert halls. Building on the success of the original Focus Flex, this updated model enhances performance with lime-infused RGBL LEDs for increased output, improved color rendering, and more nuanced white light control.
At the heart of the Focus Flex L7 are seven individually controllable 40-watt 4-in-1 RGBL LEDs, which are color-calibrated for consistent output across multiple fixtures and production runs. The inclusion of a lime chip boosts both brightness and CRI, allowing the fixture to output 3,500 lumens (up from 3,000 on the original model) and achieve a CRI of 84—significantly improving the natural rendering of skin tones and scenic elements. These LEDs are energy-efficient and long-lasting, rated for 50,000 hours of operation, and generate minimal heat, which enhances performer comfort and lowers power consumption (337W max at 120V).
The fixture's optical system includes a motorized zoom that enables a wide field angle of 55 degrees or a narrow 6-degree beam, providing the flexibility to shift seamlessly between broad washes and tight aerial effects. Pan and tilt movements are fast and fluid, aided by 16-bit fine motor control for precision positioning. The combination of quick movement and zoom range makes the Focus Flex L7 ideal for high-impact visual designs.
Color control is a highlight of this fixture, with advanced features such as Virtual CMY mixing and Virtual Foreground and Background Color Wheel functionality, making it easy to integrate alongside native CMY systems. The unit supports linear white color temperature adjustment from 2700K to 10,000K, available via direct DMX control or through ten selectable presets (including 2700K, 3200K, 5600K, and 6500K). For rapid programming, the Focus Flex L7 comes preloaded with 64 color macros and built-in pixel-mapped effects.
In terms of control, the Focus Flex L7 offers seven DMX mode options (16 to 50 channels) including dedicated CMY modes, and supports both DMX512 and RDM protocols. A color LCD display with a six-button menu allows easy navigation and fixture configuration. The fixture also includes a USB port for future firmware updates. Additionally, it features built-in WiFLY EXR wireless DMX, enabling wireless communication up to 2500 ft. / 700 m line of sight, and is compatible with Aria X2 transceivers.
The unit provides deep customization with multiple user-selectable parameters. These include five dimming modes (Standard, Stage, TV, Architectural, Theatre), four dimming curves (Square, Linear, Inverse Square, S-Curve), and adjustable dimming speed (0.1 to 10 seconds). The LED refresh rate can also be adjusted in 10 steps between 900Hz and 25,000Hz, making the fixture suitable for broadcast and film environments. Fan speed can be independently regulated for the head and base to achieve near-silent operation when required.
Physically, the Focus Flex L7 is built for convenience and flexibility. It measures just 9.17” x 6.97” x 13.8” (233 x 177 x 349mm) and weighs only 15.5 lbs (7kg), making it easy to rig, transport, and install. Its compact size saves truss space, while rubber feet allow stable placement on stage surfaces. A supplied omega bracket enables secure overhead mounting.
Rear-panel connections include 5-pin DMX input/output, locking power in/out, and a wireless antenna. The fixture’s pan (540°/630°) and tilt (265°) capabilities further contribute to its versatile performance.
