Our entry into the world of warning lights is a good omen for the future of HiViz LED Lighting and the technology in the emergency vehicle lighting industry. The FireTech Omen Warning Lightbar is one of the first product series to be operated using the newly launched HiViz Connect™ protocol.

The Omen was engineered to give you a simple exoskeleton and modern, software-enabled, multi-color sealed modules, giving you the ultimate flexibility while maintaining a super simple design. This has resulted in a warning lightbar that is maintenance-free and puts an end to moisture issues.

Our lightbar redesign focused on sealed external modules that can be configured to be any color in software, which means there is no need to get “inside” to change circuit boards or components. In the event of physical damage or defect with a module, it’s as simple as sliding off the exoskeleton and swapping out during the next PM. There’s no central brain, nowhere for moisture to accumulate, and modules are built out of aluminum which means they’re more durable than the average piece of plastic.

HiViz Connect™ is the communication protocol that enables smart features in our new HVC Warning Lights and Omen™ lightbar. With HiViz Connect™, our hardware products become virtually future proof: feature enhancements and updates can be downloaded and sent to your warning lights without ever having to take them off your apparatus. With HiViz Connect™, you can spec FireTech® today and receive the latest features the day your emergency vehicle is ready to ship.

Pierce Manufacturing unveiled something pretty special at FDIC 2023 this year: A brand new stock truck, fully decked out in FireTech lights. It’s the first demo truck in the nation to have our new FireTech Omen Waring Lightbar, the HiViz Connect (HVC) Guardian Warning Lights, and the new HiViz smart scene lights. It also features our headlights and a FireTech Brow Light.

The lights were in a “show mode” at FDIC, designed to show you different intensities, night modes, and some of the different responding features they enabled through a direct integration with CommandZone.

Here’s some of the key features:
🚒FireTech Omen Warning Lightbar: The first 5-color light bar for ultimate visibility and customization. It is configured to operate in 4 primary response modes: responding day, responding night, on-scene day, and on-scene night. The user configures the modes, intensities, and flash patterns directly through a software integration.

🚒 HVC Guardian Warning Lights: On the front, they appear to operate as a traditional dual-color fixture with red/green LEDs. On the side, you can see their side-firing light circuits; we created this feature to illuminate the side of the vehicle in addition to shining light towards oncoming traffic for greater overall conspicuity and less contrast between the point source of high intensity and the darkness surrounding the vehicle. In a night-mode application, eliminating this point-source next to darkness is safer because your eyes aren’t trying to focus on brightness and darkness at the same time. Shining tight on the side off the vehicle from the side-firing LEDs can make the whole apparatus appear more visible.

This demo is set up to show just a few of the highlights, like Active Load Management, Traffic Directors, and Command-on-Demand, but there are endless ways in which to configure these lights.
