GRAU is excited to be a part of the initial MATTER and SHAPE design salon in the heart of Paris, the first of its kind, unveiled during Paris Fashion Week in the Jardin des Tuileries in the spring of 2024.

As the only German brand represented at the salon, GRAU will present its newest light innovations, including a live experience of the unique Sunset Dimming light and Salt lamp, which transform spaces into warm and glowing environments of wellbeing and hope.

MATTER and SHAPE is an invitation to explore the landscape of design for the modern home at the intersections of design, industry and craft, creativity and commerce. The exhibition combines unique expressions of taste and aesthetics in a neutral, contemporary frame. Sun Home is a light sculpture made of ash wood and mouth-blown glass. Its shape embodies the silhouette of the human torso. The unique grain of the ash wood, which is produced in Germany, makes each lamp unique, that ages beautifully over time. The Sunset Dimming light has a particularly broad light spectrum and a calming effect on the body and mind.

Today, we introduce the best mobile light of all times. The new Salt is the first mobile light that is completely designed for your well-being. With the new Sunset Dimming light feature, the new Salt puts the sunset in the palm of your hand. Salt's warm light naturally increases the production of the sleep hormone melatonin and has a proven calming effect on the body and mind.

Salt is the holistic re-design of the Salt & Pepper. It has evolved technically, in its form and use at all levels. Aesthetically, Salt has become more petite and agile in its design language. This makes it even more user friendly. Its underside has been redesigned and now has a rubberized bottom where you will find the power button and the small Magic Button to select the light color mode. The soft underside allows for a super comfortable and silent putting down of the portable battery light.

Sunset Dimming supports your healthy bio-rhythm and has a calming effect on your body and mind. It shines a deep orange light with no blue content and has been proven to stimulate your melatonin release. Technically, Salt has brand new features: You can now choose between 3 different dimming curves, each of which can be dimmed from the lamp head with the ultra-touch sensitive surface. The portable lamp also features the Sunset Sleep Timer that you can activate with a 3-second press of the Magic Button: the light automatically dims gradually over 30 minutes and then switches itself off to standby mode.

An all-new USB-C Power Delivery 9V/12V battery can be easily replaced in a few simple steps, taking Salt to the next level of sustainability. It also provides 50% more power, allowing the light to emit up to 150 hours of light at medium output. The USB-C port for charging is now on the side, making charging easier. Just above it, you'll find a smart LED indicator that tells you just how full the battery is. It shows if you're currently interacting with Salt, and if the timer has been activated.

The new Sunset Sleep feature is an active sleep program that soothes and relaxes you into sleep. It activates a timer that automatically dims the light and turns it off after 30 minutes. This is how Salt supports your sleep and well-being.
