Eureka, an established leader in decorative lighting solutions, is pleased to announce that all four luminaires in its Tangram family have won GOOD DESIGN® Awards.

GOOD DESIGN was founded in Chicago in 1950. Each year The Chicago Athenaeum presents the GOOD DESIGN Awards Program for the most innovative and cutting-edge industrial, product, and graphic designs produced around the world. The emphasis of the GOOD DESIGN program is on quality design of the highest form, function, and aesthetics to a standard beyond ordinary products and graphics. Tangram-Trace, Tangram-Cut, Tangram-Essential, and Tangram-Tact were all recognized in the Lighting category.

The Tangram family is defined by bold four-inch-wide straps, which can be configured into various geometries using spacers that pull in or push out the straps to create striking shapes. A flat power cable is fully concealed inside each strap.

Tangram-Trace, the original luminaire in the innovative Tangram family, uses a prismatic lens to create a dramatic aesthetic while providing high-quality diffused linear illumination. Luminaires, in 2', 4', and 6' lengths, flow seamlessly into the straps from which they are suspended. The straps can be configured into 12 pre-set shapes, or designers can work with the Eureka team to create other configurations.

Precision machining from a solid glass block gives the Tangram-Cut pendant its striking, jewel-like feel. Internal frosting and a distinctive concave bottom help to diffuse light from the 8-inch diameter luminaire. The unique aesthetic is suited to luxurious environments such as high-end hospitality settings.

Tangram-Essential features a honeycomb or prismatic lens. The 8-inch cylinder provides excellent visual impact at the base of the bold four-inch-wide straps, which can be configured and suspended in multiple ways. Tangram-Essential brings geometric interest to lobbies and informal lounges or meeting areas.

Warm, soft curves define Tangram-Tact. A COB light source, deeply recessed within the 12-inch diameter housing, reduces glare and increases user comfort. Precision light control can highlight specific areas such as seating areas, pathways, or corridors.

Tangram-Cut, Tangram-Essential, and Tangram-Tact are each available as a surface or pendant mounting type.

A multidisciplinary jury of global judges includes leading international designers, architects, professors, entrepreneurs, and distinguished press.

Using bold straps and a prismatic lens, Tangram-Trace creates a dramatic aesthetic and provides high-quality, diffused linear illumination. With its flat power cable fully concealed inside its strap, designers can invent their own visual language without suspension cables or fasteners in the way. Spacers direct the path of the strap between the fixture and canopy: straps may be pulled in or pushed out to create the desired shape. The luminaire is available in 2', 4', and 6' lengths; the straps can be configured into 12 pre-set shapes, or designers can work with Eureka to create custom designs. Tangram-Trace is intended for modern environments such as conference and executive areas, hospitality applications, or reception spaces.

Making a striking design statement is now easier than ever. With broad straps and four big, bold luminaires, the Tangram family offers latitude for configuring lighting and geometries. With its flat power cable fully concealed inside its strap, designers are empowered to invent their own visual language without suspension cables and fasteners in the way. Tangram offers absolute control over the mood and feel of a space.

This is the second design award for Tangram-Trace in 2023. The luminaire recently won the distinguished Best of the Best Red Dot Award.

Eureka, an established leader in decorative lighting solutions, today announced the release of its Atoll circular luminaire. The elegant, minimalist ring luminaire offers direct light and optional batwing uplight to deliver flawless illumination in any direction.

Atoll rings, in pendant or surface/ceiling mount, feature high quality construction with sleek aluminum extrusion. Pendants are available in seven sizes, from 24" to 120" in diameter, while surface/ceiling mounts are offered up to 72”. A flexible, UV stable silicone diffuser snaps in place to eliminate any risk of light leaks along the lens' surface. Regardless of the size, the one-piece diffuser creates a single ring of illumination.

The pendant's direct illumination provides a 100% downward Lambertian illumination. Atoll’s optional batwing provides outstanding ceiling illumination without a dark spot on the ceiling, even when the pendant is installed close to the ceiling. For example, a 24” ring maybe be installed as close as 5” from the ceiling, and a 72" ring as close as 12".

Its narrow 2.93” profile makes Atoll ADA compliant when installed on a wall. Multiple sizes can create a dynamic montage on a large wall. Atoll can also be installed in lower ceiling areas with a ceiling surface mount.

Atoll is available in two outputs and delivers up to 45,761 lumens depending on the size and options selected.

The luminaire is offered with an acoustic panel for areas where noise is a concern or when a pop of color is needed. The high density felt inserts consist of a rigid sound absorbing synthetic felt easily installed without tools. Recyclable, the panel contains recycled polyethylene (PET) and contributes to sound absorption in a space. Designers can mix and match fixture sizes and choose from an acoustic felt palette of 14 standard or 16 premium colors.

All Atoll configurations can be selected with tunable white, ranging from 2700K to 5000K. They are also compatible with the nLight® Air and nLight Wired network control system. These systems manage lighting throughout indoor spaces, helping to reduce energy costs and improve occupant comfort.

This year Eureka won FIVE Red Dot Awards, including BEST OF THE BEST for Tangram-Trace for its ground-breaking design. This prize is the highest award in the competition and is reserved for the very best products in a category. Taking Best of the Best on top of 4 Red Dot awards in 2023 was way beyond our expectations and we couldn’t be more proud or feel more honored.

Eureka, an established leader in decorative lighting solutions, is pleased to announce its Tangram-Trace luminaire was awarded the Red Dot: Best of the Best distinction in the 2023 Product Design competition. Tangram-Cut, Tangram-Essential, Tangram-Tact, and Arena luminaires also received 2023 Red Dot Awards for Product Design.

While Eureka has been honored with previous Red Dot Awards, this is the first time the company has received the pinnacle Red Dot: Best of the Best. It is reserved for ground-breaking design, and only the best products in a category are awarded.

Dating back to 1955, the Red Dot Design Award is one of the world’s largest design competitions. The Red Dot Label has become established internationally as one of the most sought-after marks of quality for good design. Red Dot invited a jury of 43 international experts from different specialist areas to test, discuss, and assess each product individually, awarding aesthetically appealing, functional, smart, or innovative products.

Arena is a geometric pendant in circular, square, rectangle, or straight-line renditions. Its innovative magnetic structure lets users snap on or off light sources at will. No tools or electricians are required to add, remove, or arrange light sources, so designers and users can move, separate, cluster, flip up or down, pivot, or aim each light source to meet a space's functional and aesthetic needs. An acoustic accessory is also available for areas where noise is a concern.

All five Eureka luminaires will be featured in the Red Dot Design Museum Essen, the Red Dot Design Yearbook, and through an online presentation. They will also be celebrated during Red Dot Design Week in June.
