Derksen Lichttechnik GmbH was founded in 1986 by Joachim M. Derksen in Gelsenkirchen. In the early days, the company specialised in the design and construction of lighting and sound systems for discos and dance schools. In the 1990s, the first Graphic Spotlight , a projector for the permanent projection of logos and texts, is developed. This is the basis for the company’s rise.
