COMPASS is a versatile and high-performing LED lighting solution ideal for parks, squares, and urban areas. The fixture is suitable for both street and area lighting, combining visual comfort with exceptional efficiency. Aluminium optics, a recent technological advancement by AEC, enhance light quality and contribute to the overall effectiveness of the luminaire. COMPASS represents a reliable design solution for urban and street lighting projects, delivering consistent quality while maintaining an elegant aesthetic that complements any context.
The series offers a wide range of installation options, including post-top (TP), post-top/bracket (TP/BR), urban post-top (TP-UB for COMPASS 1), wall-mounted (AM), suspended on bracket (S), and suspended on cable (TS). This flexibility ensures the luminaire can adapt to multiple urban and street scenarios while maintaining a coherent design across city landscapes.
COMPASS is part of the Zhaga D4i consortium, achieving Zhaga D4i Luminaire certification. This certification guarantees interoperability between lighting fixtures and control nodes, allowing end-users, installers, and buyers to benefit from future-proof plug & play technology. As a smart luminaire, COMPASS integrates seamlessly with modern urban lighting networks and supports intelligent city initiatives.
The fixture is equipped with a variety of optical modules to meet diverse lighting needs. The STU-S optic provides narrow asymmetrical light for streets, urban areas, and cycle paths, while STU-M offers medium asymmetrical emission for similar applications. For wide urban and suburban roads, the STU-W and S03 optics are available, and the S optic ensures symmetrical lighting for urban spaces and green areas. The STA optic is specifically designed for long interdistance and wide roads in V and P classes. The LED modules deliver a colour temperature of 4000K, with an optional 3000K, and a CRI of ≥70, ensuring high-quality, visually comfortable light. The photobiological safety class is EXEMPT GROUP, and the LED source efficiency reaches 174 lm/W at 400mA and 85°C junction temperature.
The COMPASS series offers robust construction and operational reliability. Insulation classes II and I, IP66 protection, and IK08 impact resistance guarantee durability in demanding urban environments. The fixture features removable and replaceable LED modules, a removable gear tray, and a post-top mounting for Ø60mm poles. Operating temperatures range from -40°C to +50°C, with storage temperatures extending to +80°C.
Electrical specifications include a rated voltage of 220÷240V 50/60Hz, a power factor greater than 0.9 at full load, and a mains connection compatible with H07RN-F nx1.5mm² cables. Optional connectors for IP66/68 cables up to 2.5mm² are available, and surge protection up to 10kV is standard, with optional SPD 10kV/10kV CM/DM and 10kV-10kA Type 2+3 protection complete with LED signal and thermo fuse for end-of-life disconnection.
The luminaire supports multiple control systems, including fixed power (F), automatic dimming (DA), custom dimming profiles (DAC), constant light flux (FLC), wireless single-point communication (WL), DALI digital dimming, NEMA 7-pin socket (ANSI C136.41), and Zhaga 4-pin socket (Book 18).
COMPASS construction emphasizes durability and quality. The fixing, body, and closure hook are made of die-cast aluminum UNI EN1706 with powder paint. The optic consists of 99.85% aluminum with a 99.95% vacuum-sealed surface finish, classified as Aluminum grade A+ (DIN EN 16268). Protection is provided by a flat tempered glass screen, 5mm thick, with high transparency, a plastic M20x1.5 IP68 cable gland, and a polyurethane gasket, ensuring long-term performance and resistance to environmental factors.
This combination of versatile installation options, smart connectivity, robust construction, and advanced optical technology makes COMPASS an ideal solution for modern urban and street lighting applications.
