The Nook NK4 is a recessed, wall-mounted luminaire designed to deliver beautiful lighting transitions within a compact and elegant form. Operating with a wide input voltage range, the Nook NK4 supports 120 VAC/VDC at 60 Hz for UL certification, 110-277 VAC/VDC at 60 Hz for UL, and 220-240 VAC/VDC at 50 Hz for CE certification. Dimming options include phase dimming for 120 VAC/VDC at 60 Hz and 0-10 V control for both 110-277 VAC/VDC at 60 Hz and 220-240 VAC/VDC at 50 Hz, providing flexible lighting control for various installation needs.
Constructed with a die-cast aluminum A380 faceplate and housing, the luminaire also incorporates a polycarbonate sleeve and stainless steel hardware for durability. Wiring is UL1015 rated for 105°C and 600 V, with 18/3 configuration for phase dim drivers and 18/5 for 0-10 V drivers. The LED source is an integrated Xicato® LED module featuring Next-Generation Corrected Cold Phosphor Technology®, which keeps phosphors cool to maintain consistent light quality within a tight 1 x 2 MacAdam ellipse range. This technology enables outputs of 700 to 2,000 lumens with color temperature options ranging from 2,700K to 4,000K and efficiency exceeding 100 lumens per watt under operating conditions.
The optics come preinstalled with adjustable throw settings tailored for short (~8 feet/2.4 meters), medium (~9 feet/2.7 meters), and long (~11 feet/3.4 meters) beam patterns, allowing field servicing as needed. The fixture produces an average horizontal beam angle of 85°, with a tempered glass lens that is both shock resistant and thermally tolerant, featuring a sandblast frosted finish for softened illumination. The lamp compartment, made from die-cast aluminum, can accommodate LED modules up to 2,000 lumens and requires no access to the LED module, optics, or driver during installation, preserving the factory seal for enhanced protection.
Finished with a two-layer process of sulfuric acid anodization and polyester TGIC powder coating, the Nook NK4 offers superior outdoor weather resistance and has been tested to ASTM standards. The housing and sleeve are designed for recessed installation in either upward or downward orientations, with an alignment precision of ±2° in each direction. Installation requires a separately specified mounting kit (LS6333), which includes a polycarbonate construction sleeve equipped with vertical and horizontal ½" NPT knockouts and is approved for concrete installation. A construction cover is included for added convenience.
Rated IP65 for ingress protection, the Nook NK4 is suitable for dry, damp, and wet environments. It meets IES classification standards for Type II or Type III lighting distributions and holds certifications including UL, CE, and RCM, ensuring compliance with rigorous safety and performance requirements.
