The Bumling Mini Wall is a design classic rooted in Swedish lighting history. It all began in 1968 at a lighting exhibition in Gothenburg, where designer Anders Pehrson’s new pendant lamp drew a striking comparison from a friend who exclaimed, “It’s like a big boulder, Anders!” The lamp was notably bulky, finished in British racing green, and measured 60 cm in diameter. This memorable design marked the birth of Bumling, which became an iconic series during the 1970s, expanding to include table, floor, and wall lamps as well as various iterations of the original pendular form and outdoor versions.
Today, Bumling Mini is re-launched in its original compact size of 190 mm, with the pendant version also available in a larger 250 mm diameter. The design stays true to the 1968 original, featuring a shade crafted from spun aluminium and the signature circular grid. The lamp is also fitted with the classic flexible arm, enabling directable lighting in its original form. This product is available with either an energy-efficient LED light source or a selectable GU10 socket option to suit different preferences and needs.
The Bumling Mini Wall is made from spun aluminium, a fully recyclable material that emphasizes sustainability alongside its aesthetic appeal. The light diffuser is a circular grid composed of opal acrylic combined with a diffuser film, which softens and evenly distributes the light output. Connection is made simple through a terminal block housed within a junction box rated for cables up to 3x2.5 mm².
The included LED light source operates at 230V with a warm 2700K color temperature, delivering a color rendering index (CRI) of 80 and a long lifespan rated at L70B10 for 50,000 hours. The AC-powered version holds an energy efficiency classification of Class F according to EU regulations (No 2019/2015). For those choosing the GU10 version, the luminaire offers dimmable functionality via a rotary dimmer located on the lamp housing, providing user-friendly lighting control.
