The Tumbler Area Light, designed by Industrial Facility for Urbidermis, brings a playful yet refined presence to urban environments. Taking its design inspiration from the familiar form of a domestic lampshade, Tumbler subtly integrates indoor aesthetics into outdoor spaces. This gentle, nodding gesture introduces a friendly, approachable character to public areas, blending warmth with architectural clarity.
Despite its casual appearance, Tumbler is a meticulously engineered lighting solution available in area, wall-mounted, and catenary configurations. The area light version is offered on poles of varying heights—11.2 feet, 13.8 feet, 16.4 feet, and 21.7 feet—with options for single, double, or multiple luminaires per pole. It supports a range of advanced LED arrays, including 16-, 24-, and CoB (Chip-on-Board) configurations, each offered in two power outputs and with multiple symmetric or asymmetric light distribution patterns, making it adaptable for diverse urban lighting applications.
Tumbler’s construction is both elegant and durable. The luminaire housing is crafted from die-cast aluminum for strength and longevity, while the lens is made of tempered glass, available in either clear or opal (diffused) finishes. It uses high-performance light sources, including Cree XPG2 LEDs on PCBs and Birdgleux Gen 7 CoB LEDs, delivering excellent light quality in 3000K or 4000K color temperatures. The system operates on a 120V-277V power supply and offers standard 1–10V dimming, with DALI dimming available on request.
The fixture is rated IP66 for protection against dust and water ingress, ensuring reliability in outdoor settings. With a luminaire weight of 14.5 lbs and an effective projected area (EPA) of 0.84 ft², Tumbler balances sleek aesthetics with robust performance. Concealed bolts and connection points enhance its clean, cohesive design, reinforcing its role as both a technical and visual asset in the contemporary urban landscape.
