Tumbler introduces a refreshing and human-centered approach to urban lighting. With a gentle tilt in its silhouette, the luminaire makes a casual and welcoming gesture to the space it illuminates—bringing a friendly, almost domestic sensibility to the cityscape. Designed by Sam Hecht and Kim Colin of London-based Industrial Facility for Urbidermis, Tumbler challenges the conventional notion that outdoor lighting must be purely functional and rugged. Instead, it blends the elegance of interior design with the durability required for exterior environments.
Inspired by the familiar form of a lampshade, Tumbler’s design introduces an indoor aesthetic to outdoor urban spaces. It is available in wall-mounted, pole-mounted, and catenary-suspended configurations, offering versatility for a variety of architectural and streetscape applications. Despite its soft visual character, Tumbler is engineered with high-performance technology. It features options for 16, 24, or CoB LED arrays, multiple power outputs, and a range of symmetric and asymmetric light distributions. The luminaire delivers a choice of 3000K or 4000K color temperatures and is offered with clear or diffused tempered glass lenses to achieve different lighting effects. Full cut-off optics ensure minimal light spill and compliance with dark-sky principles.
Crafted with attention to detail, the Tumbler housing is made from die-cast aluminum and sealed with a frameless glass lens for a clean, modern look. Hidden connection points further emphasize its refined appearance. The round luminaire mounts securely to a die-cast bracket and is available with poles in four standard heights (3.4m, 4.2m, 5.0m, and 6.6m). Custom poles can also be engineered for catenary installations.
Electrically, Tumbler operates on 120V–277V and features an integrated Class 2 driver with standard 1-10V dimming. DALI-compatible dimming is available upon request. The luminaire ships prewired and fully assembled for easy installation. It is UL Listed for wet locations and rated IP66, ensuring protection against dust and powerful water jets. The Tumbler housing comes in a natural aluminum powdercoat finish by Urbidermis, while poles use Landscape Forms’ proprietary Pangard II® powdercoat for long-lasting durability.
