TSO-Certified SmartStrobe LED Wingtip Light for Gulfstream IV and V with Live LEDCheck Status

The SmartStrobe Wingtip Strobe Light from Aveo Engineering was specifically developed to replace the outdated, unreliable, and aesthetically unappealing legacy strobe lights originally found on the wingtips of Gulfstream IV and V aircraft. Addressing one of the earliest retrofit requests, Aveo created this innovative solution while maintaining a strict drop-in replacement format, which meant working within the dimensional and mounting constraints of existing hardware. Despite these limitations, the resulting product delivers a sleeker appearance, significantly lighter weight, superior brightness, and dramatically improved reliability.

At the heart of the SmartStrobe is a powerful array of 30 ultra-high brightness CREE LEDs designed for 180° white strobe coverage. These LEDs represent the highest standard of luminous output in the industry, ensuring enhanced visibility and safety. Aveo's patented LEDCheck™ system is integrated directly into the light, providing live status indicators that help monitor system health in real-time. One of the defining advantages of the SmartStrobe is its self-contained design, which requires no external strobe power box—a concept pioneered by Aveo that competitors have yet to replicate with the same level of performance and reliability.

Designed as a direct retrofit, SmartStrobe holds a certified Gulfstream STC for models GIV and GV, making it a seamless replacement for outdated Honeywell components, including the 30-2446 strobe light and the 60-4943 strobe power supply. The comparison between the legacy Honeywell strobe lights and the Aveo SmartStrobe is stark: where the old lights use a handful of underpowered LEDs, the SmartStrobe offers a high-output design that enables visibility from up to five times the distance.

Built for real-world durability, the SmartStrobe is waterproof, shockproof, dustproof, and engineered to withstand extreme environmental conditions. It meets and exceeds DO-160 testing standards for aviation components, ensuring compliance and long-term reliability even in the harshest conditions. The fixture is hermetically sealed and constructed using solid-state components, enhancing its resistance to vibration and mechanical stress.

Physically, the SmartStrobe measures 143.1 mm x 61 mm x 69.7 mm (5.63" x 2.4" x 2.75") and weighs 770 grams (1.697 lbs). It operates on a voltage range of 96–129V AC at frequencies between 50–440 Hz. At 115V, the unit draws 0.625 amps and consumes 69 watts in pulse mode. It is protected against over-temperature conditions and performs reliably in temperatures from -55°C to +85°C (-67°F to +185°F), making it a dependable lighting solution across all flight environments.
