Parscan by ERCO is built on the principle of "light, not luminaires," and this philosophy is embodied in its minimalist cylindrical form. Designed to remain visually unobtrusive, particularly when integrated into ceiling channels, Parscan becomes nearly invisible in architectural environments such as museums, galleries, and retail spaces. Its sleek housing allows the light itself to take center stage, while the bracket seamlessly merges into the body when used vertically as a downlight. The spotlight’s compact design and refined aesthetics make it an ideal solution for spaces where visual discretion and high lighting performance must coexist.
Thanks to ERCO’s advanced photometric systems, Parscan delivers precise, flexible lighting for a wide range of applications. Its compact luminaires are equipped to handle lighting scenarios requiring high visual comfort, from powerful accentuation of artworks and merchandise to wide, uniform wallwashing. Available in a variety of light distributions—narrow spot, spot, flood, wide flood, extra wide flood, oval flood, and wallwash—Parscan offers complete control over how light interacts with the space and objects within it. The Spherolit lens technology ensures high efficiency and clarity, with options such as freely rotatable oval flood lenses and continuously focusable zoom optics that allow fine-tuning of beam shapes and sizes. The oval flood lens rotates 360°, ideal for aligning light precisely with architectural or artistic elements.
Zoom spotlights in the Parscan series are particularly effective in environments with changing exhibits or retail layouts. These fixtures allow the beam angle to be continuously adjusted between 15° (spot) and 65° (wide flood) simply by rotating the lens, accommodating both compact and expansive displays. Zoom oval variants are also available for illuminating linear forms such as paintings or shelving. When set to a tilt angle of approximately 30°, these spotlights model the subject with dimensional clarity while minimizing shadows and glare from the observer.
Parscan’s contour-free spotlight head is engineered to highlight objects cleanly and effectively. Whether used for general accent lighting or targeted illumination of sculptures, products, or interior architecture, it excels at delivering high visual impact without dominating the visual field. Floodlighting applications benefit from wide rotationally symmetrical or axially symmetrical beams, making Parscan suitable for illuminating long, rectangular objects or merchandise groupings. The ideal tilt angle for such floodlighting tasks is also around 30°, ensuring consistent modeling and light balance across the target surface.
In wallwashing scenarios, Parscan lens wallwashers deliver highly uniform vertical illumination. To achieve this, the fixture should be positioned at a distance from the wall equal to approximately one third of the room height. This setup results in an optimal tilt angle of about 35°, ensuring smooth light distribution from ceiling to floor. Whether lighting a retail display wall, gallery backdrop, or corridor, this configuration guarantees visual harmony and highlights architectural surfaces evenly.
The technology behind Parscan supports its advanced performance. Each luminaire incorporates high-power LEDs, available in warm white (2700K or 3000K) and neutral white (3500K or 4000K) options. These LEDs work in conjunction with optical polymer collimating lenses to shape and project light with high precision. The cylindrical housing and bracket are crafted from powder-coated cast aluminium, available in white (RAL9002), black, or silver finishes. The luminaire tilts from 0° to 90°, and the bracket rotates 360° on its adapter, allowing for maximum adjustability. Power outputs range from as low as 2W up to 48.6W, with luminous flux from 194lm to 6288lm across spotlight, floodlight, and zoom configurations.
Parscan offers extensive control compatibility, including switchable operation, phase dimming with on-board rotary control, DALI dimming, and Casambi Bluetooth for wireless control. The phase dimmable version supports trailing-edge dimmers, while the rotary on-board option allows localized adjustment of brightness. The luminaires are compatible with ERCO’s 3-circuit or DALI track systems for seamless integration into larger lighting control infrastructures.
Whether integrated subtly into ceiling architecture or used prominently for its lighting capabilities, Parscan represents a professional-grade solution that combines clean design, technical flexibility, and high-performance illumination for art, retail, and architectural environments.
