The Triggy Table lamp is a modern reinterpretation of lighting design inspired by the 1980s. When designer Lars Bessfelt discovered a new flat light source to replace traditional bulbs during that era, it opened up exciting possibilities for creating unique shapes and expressions. This innovation sparked his creativity, leading him to sketch a lampshade with distinctive proportions—a concept that eventually blossomed into a whole collection.
Living in Anderslöv, Bessfelt connected with ceramist Christian von Sydow to explore a collaboration. Their shared interest led to the creation of a lamp that combined Bessfelt’s flat shade design with von Sydow’s triangular vase forms. The result was the original Triggy table and floor lamp, characterized by its flat shade and geometric style. Today, Triggy has been thoughtfully recreated using modern materials and a contemporary light source, all while preserving Lars Bessfelt’s original vision.
Triggy’s design features a flat screen crafted from exclusive Swedish linen fabric, paired with a wooden base shaped like a triangular prism. This design is available in two elegant versions: one with a smoked oak base accented by brushed brass details, and another with a whitewashed ash base complemented by brushed aluminum accents. Both versions combine natural textures and refined metal finishes to create a functional piece of art that radiates sophistication.
The lamp is operated with a simple pull cord switch to turn it on and off, but for those seeking dimming functionality, Triggy offers a smart option through the Casambi app, compatible with both iOS and Android devices. This allows effortless control of light intensity, adding versatility to the lamp’s elegant design.
In terms of connectivity, the lamp is supplied with either a black or white textile cable (2x0.75 mm²) equipped with a halogen-free plug. The light source is an energy-efficient LED with a warm 2700K color temperature and excellent color rendering (CRI 90), ensuring both ambiance and clarity. The product meets the EU’s energy efficiency regulation (EU) No 2019/2015, classified under energy efficiency class E, making Triggy both a stylish and responsible lighting choice.
