The luminaire features a durable aluminum body finished with a high-quality powder coat for both resilience and refined appearance. Suspended from steel cables and connected with a silver braided power cable, Flute’s visual identity is matched by its engineered stability. Installation is simplified through the Align N’ Lock™ joiner system, which guarantees zero light leakage and ensures seamless alignment between fixture segments. Luminaires are designed to mount directly over standard junction boxes supplied by others.
An opal acrylic diffuser, supplied in seamless rolls up to 24 feet long, provides soft, uniform illumination and is field-trimmable for customized continuous runs. Integrated HPF electronic drivers support input voltages of 120-277V and 347V (EU-240V), with the drivers housed within the fixture body to preserve the clean exterior. Flute also supports integration with Power over Ethernet (PoE) systems, enabling smart connectivity within data-enabled environments.
For dynamic environments where lighting impacts wellness and productivity, Flute offers BIOS circadian lighting options, available by consulting the factory. A tunable white configuration is also available, delivering a full range from 2700K to 6500K to accommodate changing needs or ambient requirements. The fixture delivers high-performance output based on 4000K and CRI 80+, ensuring vivid and accurate light quality across applications.
Flute boasts exceptional longevity, with a reported L70 rating of over 108,000 hours at 3000 lumens per foot (9800 lumens per meter), and an estimated L70 lifespan exceeding 196,000 hours under the same output. It also includes a remote emergency lighting option, providing 1.5 hours of illumination in North America and 3 hours in the EU. This system includes a separate inverter module, NiCad batteries, and a remote LED charge indicator with a test switch that fits a standard single gang box (not supplied), all of which can be placed up to 15 feet (4.5 meters) from the luminaire.
Flute is compatible with a wide array of smart lighting controls and sensor systems, including Avi-On, Casambi, Enlighted, Lutron Vive, nLight, NX Lighting Controls, Osram, and Philips, among others—consult the factory for integration specifics. It is damp-rated for use in a variety of indoor environments and can also be equipped with seismic bracing kits to meet regional compliance standards.
