The Kanby Zip is an LED controller continuous lighting system designed for both surface and suspension mounting. Its luminaire modules are engineered to snap securely into sockets spaced at regular 750 mm intervals within the Zipline extruded aluminium trunking, allowing for quick and flexible installation. The system is particularly suited for demanding environments such as hospitals, schools, social housing, and data centers.
This lighting solution features a carefully controlled nanoprism optic polycarbonate diffuser to ensure compliance with EN12464-1 and LG7 standards, maintaining low glare levels below 3000 cd/m² at 65º. An opal diffuser option is also available to meet different aesthetic and lighting needs. The system incorporates fire-retardant external plastic components and is designed to exclude dust, dirt, and insects, ensuring longevity and consistent performance.
Pre-installed wiring looms and plug-and-socket connections between trunking joints simplify installation and maintenance. Modules click fit into place using stainless steel springs, which can be released with a standard screwdriver. Additionally, SmartScan wireless technology eliminates the need for control cabling, making the Kanby Zip ideal for retrofit projects.
With an IP40 rating and a maximum presence detection height of 8 meters, the Kanby Zip delivers a lumen output ranging from 2,380 lm to 7,680 lm with an efficacy of up to 138.8 lumens per circuit watt. The lighting system offers maintained emergency lighting with an output between 360 lm and 380 lm and a 3-hour emergency duration powered by a Nickel Metal Hydride (NiMH) battery.
Operating within a power range of 15 W to 53 W for LED power and 19 W to 61 W for circuit power, the Kanby Zip features a CRI of 80+ and a color temperature of 4000 K. It has a rated life of 67,000 hours (L80/B10) and meets both UKCA and CE compliance standards. This product contains a light source with an energy efficiency class of B, providing an effective and reliable lighting solution for various commercial and institutional settings.
