The Velop Straight™ suspended fixture is defined by its sculpted arc shape, rounded end caps, and a seamlessly flowing lens that extends from bottom to top, creating a continuous stream of light that gently softens architectural lines. Available in both arc-shaped and straight configurations, Velop offers scalable solutions adaptable to dynamic spaces such as open offices, collaborative work areas, hospitality venues, and more. Constructed with a durable aluminum body, the fixture is finished with a high-quality powder coating for lasting aesthetics and protection. Suspension is achieved via Power Over Suspension (P.O.S.) cables, providing clean lines and integrated power delivery. The diffuser uses a protruding lens measuring 0.08 inches (2.1 mm) that contributes to the fixture’s uniform light distribution.
An optional remote emergency lighting system provides 1.5 hours of emergency illumination in North America and 3 hours in Europe. This system includes an inverter module, NiCad batteries, and a remote wall or ceiling-mounted LED charge indicator and test switch (available in North America only). The test switch fits into a standard single gang box (not supplied), with a maximum distance of 15 feet (4.5 meters) allowed between the luminaire and the emergency system’s wall or ceiling plate.
The Velop uses remote, high power factor (HPF) electronic drivers compatible with 120-277V in North America and 240V in Europe, supporting dimming functionality. Wiring distances vary depending on wire gauge: 18 AWG supports up to 40 feet (12.2 meters), 16 AWG up to 60 feet (18.3 meters), and 14 AWG up to 90 feet (27.4 meters). Drivers must remain accessible after installation and may be remotely mounted or integrated within the canopy, depending on fixture size.
Velop can also integrate into data networks through Power over Ethernet (PoE) connectivity, enabling smart control and networked lighting management. Mechanically, the luminaire mounts directly over a J-box, which is provided by others and applicable for North America only. The fixture offers a long lifespan with an L70 rating exceeding 60,000 hours at 25°C (77°F). Delivered lumens and efficacy are based on white LEDs at 4000K with a minimum color rendering index (CRI) of 90.
Rated for damp locations, Velop is suitable for environments where moisture exposure is a concern. To meet seismic compliance, bracing kits are available, and interested parties should consult the factory for specific requirements and details.
